The honorable Andreas (Tifosi12) is visiting Dallas and I'll be racing the Challenge at MSR. Q at 8am, standing start R at 10am, reverse grid rolling R at 2pm.

Come out to watch the racing and meet Andreas. My car will probably be over at Rob's condo, so you won't see it on grid. I'll have my phone when not in the car.

I just might do that. I've got to be in Mineral Wells before noon tomorrow for a last minute job.

Cool, I think Manny and I may attend and watch.

Is Big Bend Villa open for a tour?

Had fun meeting up with you fools for a few hours. Rob, Rob L, William, Manny, Andreas, and Dave. Nice to meet some people for the first time face to face and say hello to a couple that attended the French Quarter Classic.

I noticed some had digital cams, also, Rob, is there any way you can post the first couple laps of your afternoon session? Would love to see the divebombing from the cockpit view :)

Not sure what's so honorable about me, but I sure had a fun time with y'all!

Thanks for the Southern hospitality, you guys live up to your reputation.

Rob aced that standing start race btw: After he set fastest qualifying time his start was somewhat sluggish with the rears reaching end of live grip leaving him somewhat helplessly spinning at the drop of the flag. The Subaru driver almost collected him, 4WD gets you going fast. He avoided by going through the grass, taking the lead. Rob reeled him in and a lap later things were in order again. Rob managed to extend his lead to over ten seconds and even begun lapping some contenders towards the end of the race.
Not surprisingly some Cobras struggled with handling. The Ferrari in comparison looked poised and totally at ease. Sometimes it almost looked too easy and the sound coming off that V8 was pure music. The Subaru finally caved in with a torn front right; still a great run for a car pretty much stock.

Got some pics I'll post a bit later.

    Great video!

The white car (Camaro? I forget) you battled for most of the race, where did he start in the grid?

It was really entertaining to watch, especially from where we were at on the porch.

nice clip Rob, some great driving there - takes huevos to race a 355CH against a $5-10K Camaro: they have nothing really to lose from contact! Next time see if you can turn the autofocus function off and set the white balance to the sunlight setting - that way the camera won't overcorrect and wash out the view in the windshield (because of the darkness of the interior).

Dave, you possibly mean the Silver Mustang with gobs of torque that was consistently running wide? Not sure. Maybe a little after midpack.

Yep, that one! Couldn't remember what it was, only that it was a late model muscle car.

Thanks for the tip, I've always had this problem with the 355 C videos, that camera works fine in the other cars. Must be the angle.

I'll post results when they're out.
