I have two friends coming in to town and we'd like to do something car related. I had been wanting to do check out U-Drift which was a place that had a large parking lot set up where you could take some beater Nissan 240s around a drift course. I heard that it is no longer operating. Anyone know if there is another drifting experience you can do in the area?

The other option appears to be the exotics racing at Las Vegas Speedway. Not as exciting for me because I already get to drive a Ferrari. But if the course is cool maybe that is what we will do.

    Any other recommendation?

I did the exotic racing in Vegas and chose to drive a 458 only. Awesome experience (the car) but not sure I would pay $750 again for only 12-15 laps. I did have a good instructor though....

exotics racing is pricey but the upside is you can drive a great variety of cars in a single track day. btw @shawdut- I could be wrong but I recall paying a lot more than $750 for 12-15 laps.

We went ahead and bought our packages with Dream Racing (Dream Racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway- Dream Racing). I got a Ferrari Scuderia, and my friends got an Audi R8 and Lamborghini 550-2. Will report back on what the experience is like.

Was thinking about trying out a McLaren or Lamborghini. I'm hoping that by feeling more comfortable right away with the Scuderia driving position it allows me more time to learn some pointers for better driving of my Ferrari 360.

the co-pilot I had was a lot of fun and my lap time improved significantly from lap to lap. drove the scud first and 458 second (Mercedes sls last). amazing difference in the cars and good for the contrast.

Sounds like you already had your friends out, but next time try club Sportiva. It's a pretty fun day for $750 and a chance to drive a nice assortment of cars!

Find any Auto X event or Mazda Miata Cup event and go all out on those cars. Really a gr8 way of picking up a lot of track time and not killing your back in a go-kart.

Just a quick follow up in case anyone else is interested. Dream Racing was an awesome experience! I will do it again and recommend it to anyone thinking about it.

The facility is on a road course track laid out right in the center of the LVS NASCAR oval. There were stock cars rumbling overhead on the oval while race version F430GT cars buzzed by on the road course. Very cool.

The experience is great, you get to go all out in the supercar of your choice. The owner is an Italian fellow and he put on a show drifting an M3 out in the parking lot. He's a Ferrari man and liked talking cars.
