I was just wondering what type of racing is relatively local to the southern florida region. Where i am now SCCA Auto-X (solo II ) and some Rally-X Events are the norm. I know about 3 or 4 hrs from here we have Track racing (limerock and walken's glen). Events are usually every week. Is it the same in FL? Id imagine maybe a drift circuit exist, yes/no ? Formula Vee (f500) ?

I raced SCCA for years in Florida, it's huge. Club Ford, Formula Ford, formula Continental, regional and national events at Moroso (west palm beach), sebring, homestead and daytona. You havent lived till you've sat on the grid for 20 minutes in a triple layer nomex, full face helmet, in the middle of august!

SCCA Florida like Mark said is pretty big. They have several events between the South Florida Chapter and the Central Florida Chapter.
NASA Florida has a great race series that has a very good 13-13 rule enforcement. Two races per weekend and one pretty much every every month.

I knew you would chime in at some point Martin, what series do you run your miatas in ?

Ive done Solo II on and off again since i was 16 - so 6 years now. This year i was suppose to start hitting Lime rock and Walken's Glen but have not had a chance yet and i really would like to make it to the track and participate on that level.

It was just a thought i had the other day, events here im pretty much central to so i always have something to go to and then i thought " Where the heck am i going to race when i move down there ! "

Its a bit of relief to hear that theres a TON of stuff going on, so ill be at some event or another haha.

    Thanks for the direction guys.

If you go in my race car rental site you will find the calendar and you cna see the South Florida schedule. Not every event is a race event, there are some Drivers Ed events in there as well since we rent to both racers and clients that want to use the cars for drivers education and racing schools etc.

I need that to keep track of my schedule myself. You have no idea how much I log into that myself.
I guess if we get the Mini back running this week I will test it in Homestead on Sat or Sun again. Also need to take Gaby's Miata for a test run.
