Not really. The world championship is based on comparing drivers competing on different cars in terms of competitiveness. If Vettel or Hamilton wins this year, can he not be compared to a mid-field driver with a small team? Why does the FIA ranks the drivers at the end of the year then? F1 isn't a specs series, so you can expect different levels of performance in cars. But saying that Damon Hill didn't deserve to be WDC because he had the best car is just a false argument. Most WDC win because they drive the best car, and if not, they are the best to take advantage of the issues met by others (mistakes, unreliability, etc...) Also, a driver doesn't inherit the best car by chance, so it's better to kill that argument right now. Also, talent at the Wheel isn't enough anymore to make it in F1. It's a whole package you need to have. Hamilton explained it very well, when he said that beyond driving, a F1 career is like a chess game. You have to study the field, make the right move, detect the team that is progressing, explore opportunities, network among the influencial people in F1, etc... Even Stirling Moss said that going fast around corners isn't enough to be called a racing driver...

I never said Damon didn't deserve the title because he had the best car, i simply pointed out that there were many drivers in the grid that were better than him when he drove for williams, and under the same conditions he would have never won the championship. he had the best car for 3 years in a row, he lost the first to to a driver who had an inferior car and barely one the third against a rookie driving the same car . He might be world champion but it's far from being a great one.
Sure William, if that's the way you think i recomend you skip the actual racing and buy "autocourse" by the end of the season, there you will find all your precious stats and facts...but still you have to torn most pages because they'll surely contain a lot of ifs and buts...
Now that both Mclaren seats are taken, Perez should be announcing that he is staying @ Racing Point for 2019 by Singapore. Stroll rumours continue that he will be @ RP by Russia... Ocon ties with Merc has probably cost him a seat for 2019.
[AMuS] A new factory will be built within 2021 (the location will be decided shortly) and will cost around 80m. Plus, the personnel will grow from 420 to 550 employees and since Racing Point’s acquisition there is a new target: the top 3.
Wow, Papa Stroll and his mates think big. Finishing 3rd will a tall ordeal for a Customer team when there is 4 factory teams. Maybe they expect Mercedes to pull out?
I guess anything will be better then Jordan/Midland/Spyker..probably have a Canadian twist to it ,looking at those heavy hitter investors
Maybe re:Canadian twist, also I'm looking at a red and white color-way/Canadian theme maybe on parts of the car or the whole car IF they don't keep BWT(contract contingent).
The Racing Point name is not a permanent new title for the former Force India team and will change before the start of the 2019 Formula 1 season. The provisional entry list for the 2019 F1 World Championship lists the team and chassis name as Racing Point, but that is just a temporary measure as the Silverstone outfit makes the transition from its former identity as Force India. The team officially became Racing Point Force India at the Belgian Grand Prix when it was accepted as a new entry. The FIA was keen for the team to use the company name created for the acquisition process by new owner Lawrence Stroll in order to distinguish the new organisation from its previous incarnation as Sahara Force India. But Stroll does not have any particular affinity to the Racing Point name, and a new one is currently under discussion. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/140491/racing-point-name-will-only-be-temporary
So 4 different names in less than 1 year? Shows real focus and commitment. If I were working there would start looking for a new job.
