Probably yes. But who cares? This is kids talk..
If you want to drag race get a different car, which would be also much less expensive.
Enjoy your 360, it was built for a different purpose.

Invite him to a track day some time and go see what kind of lap times you can turn. Unless you meant "drag race", which is laughable.

Why do people even ask these questions. Why don't you supercharge you 360 and then he wouldn't even ask the dumb question and we'd save some bandwidth here.

First off all, since it doesn't sound like either you or your buddy race what's the point.

In any event, a stock 350Z with 450 hp (nothing else upgraded) most likely wouldn't beat a 360 (stock 6 speed) on a track with equal drivers. It might be close but the 350Z brakes and suspension (even the track optioned model) will not handle as well or brake as well.

Just for kicks, if you look at the Japan JGTC championship the 350 Z kicks the 360 GT's &*(&*^. But again you comparing apples to oranges since one has a detuned V8 and the other has a highly tuned VQ V6 engine.

ya i was just curious what everyones opinion was, thanks for the replies. Has anyone ever seen the new f430 in person? I haven't, but im not sure if i like it as much appearance wise over the 360 just based on pics.

Yes, saw the F430 in person and sat in it in Italy. I much prefer the older cars that have a distinctive look rather than the newer ones that look like a Corvette. To me the older ones have more appeal.

The 360 GT that I was referrencing runs in the GT300 class (Japanese GT CHampionship). The rules in that class dictate that no car can have more than 300 hp (in reality the cars are closer to 350). Therefore the 360 GT that runs in this series has to run a small restrictor to get down to the hp limit. The same is done on the Porsche GT3's and a few other high hp cars.

The Nissan runs in the GT500 class where the limit is 500 hp.

Can some people just chill out. The poor guy is asking a simple question. Who would win a drag race? I personally think, if the driver skill is equal, the modified 350Z would win (on paper anyway). The 360 and 350Z weigh roughly the same give or take, and the 350Z has 50HP more.

I’m not a big fan of drag racing (I think it’s the most boring think ever behind NASCAR). But let’s not forget that even F1 is a drag race from the start to the first corner.
