Bob Zecca at Driving Impressions has a few on good sale. Check the sponsors, too.

Depends what you want. For Sparco I've always used OgRacing (ogracing.com); they're located at Summit Point and have a good selection of new and closeout inventory. Driving Impressions has some sweet deals right now on Momo, Sabelt, Kingdragon and some other brands. If you're in money-is-no-object mood call up Stand 21 in Atlanta and have them make you a suit - their stuff is the best IMHO but whether its worth the premium is a personal judgement.

What are you using this for? Different sanctioning bodies have different requirements but its silly not to buy the SCCA requirement (SFI3.2A-5 I believe) as you'll want something you can use if you switch series (or happen to get a ride in a friend's car).

You also need to make your judgement based on frequency of use. Most of the new 'superlight' suits are not very durable - I've seen the armpits tear, fabric get pilly, and threads pull. If you're running 3-5 weekends a year and in a close cockpit car with nothing to snag on the suit, then the superlights will probably give you 3-4 years of use. Running 10 weekends in an open cockpit car seems to destroy them quickly. That said, don't dismiss the superlights if you're going to run in the summer as the non-superlights tend to be very heavy.

I've always liked OMP best, great quality and sober desings but they are not cheap. Sparco is also nice.

When shopping for a nomex suit I've tried to stay away from the flashy designs like Alpinestars and others. They look good today but not so in a few years they as I don't change suits often.

TeamDi had some 50% off Momo and Sabelt suits closeouts (not advertised on their site). www.teamdi.com

EDIT: Ups, ProCoach beat me to it... Driving Impressions = TeamDi

I bought 2 suits from Go-Motor bids , very nice suits , got them at a fraction of what they would have cost new ,Sometimes they have the dimensions , if not ask them for the measurements + they will give them to you, I got a top brand name suit a couple of years old from a IRL team for $ 200.00

I picked up the same champ car deal a little over a year ago. Sometimes you get lucky with sizes in eBay. I found a two layer stand 21 ex cart suit for ~125.

I just bought a full kit from VAS enterprises. Victor does custom suits and off the rack stuff. The first one he sent me fit spot on out of the box. Price was competitive too. I also got gloves and other miscellaneous Nomex stuff.

Hah! My first suit twenty-five years ago was done by Victor to measurements made by Amos Johnson's wife Bunny at the Team Highball shop in Raleigh! Great quality, good price and very durable.

All kinds of good deals on safety equipment right now. I just walked out of the CDOC store at VIR and there's a good amount of sale stuff. Too bad I don't need anything. :D

I used to be sponsored by Alpinestars and have several suits from them. I have a black suit that is new in the bag and I have never worn it (tags are still attached). Its is a little tight from shoulder to groin, but judging from your size, it would fit you perfect. I am 6ft and 180lbs.

I have multiple brands in my closet, and I peronally think it comes down to what fits you personally. All of the major brands have several tiers of suit quality that breath about the same as their competitors. So if you don't care about price, try several on and by what fits best.

If you are interested in the one I have, shoot me a pm.

I will only use this suit about 3 or 4 times a year MAX! Don't want to spend large dollars so maybe I should start looking on ebay.

you could go to ebay. but its like wearing someone else's gym clothes. if I was a germaphobe, that would freak me out.

And also consider this is saftey gear for the only body you get. spending money to make sure you are safe is a good idea. Also, a bad suit is the easiest way to make you uncomfortable in a car. cheap suits don't breath. and race cars are really hot in the summer. I always recommended to students to spend them most money they could afford to on comfortable, and safe saftey gear. Cars are replaceable, your body is not. ANd if its not comfortable, you will look for any excuse you can not to wear it...

+1 for Driving Impressions, some great sales going on right now. If you're not on their email list, join it on their website, they email out some fantastic deals that do not get published, www.teamdi.com their new website is pretty neat too, it has their TeamDI 2009 catalog in 3D.

Look for the team sell offs.
Quite a few of those in today's circumstances.
Good chance to get a bargain in suits, helmets, hans devices etc.

I was in the market for my first suit. Read a few of your threads and called Team DI and talked to Bob. Got me a good deal on an ultra light Momo regular $1300 for $650. 3 layer Nomex and cert. for europe and usa,SCAA etc. Color wasn't exactly what I wanted ( black and silver or grey) . But the price was definately right. Top end suit on their web site. but discontinued line. Apparently momo is haveing some serious financial problems. Just what i was told. Anyway, expect to have it within a week. Worried about the fit. Hopefully should be okay. 180lbs. 5' 10''. Sending me a European 56. Says he owns a 308 and was glad to hear that I heard of his company thru ferrari chat. His been selling a bunch of them with only a few left. Just thought I'd pass it along if anyone is interested. Let you guys know if I was satified with everything when I get it. Thanks.

Cool deal. Most companies have different fitting suits, if you're a 52 in one brand you could be a 56 in another...this is why talking to a knowledgable safety equipment specialist is important.
