I once came accross a website where you could buy racing wheels made to your spec's virtually "off-the -shelf". The website even showed how to measure your car to get proper width, offset, etc. Does anyone know who or where I might be able to find such wheels?
Compomotive (a British company with its US HQ in PA) will make to order. They're not the lightest wheels out there, but they're very reasonably priced and will build whatever you like if you supply width, diameter, offset, bolt pattern, etc. I had them make some 17" wheels for my old GT4 track car years ago (see attached photo), and they were very pleasant to deal with. If you are concerned with actually racing; Weight and strength vs looks, you can have great wheels custom built by Kodiak wheels.
I looked at their website, Wow, prices have gone up considerably. Contact the owner directly, forgot his name. You can cut a better deal I'm sure.
This was years ago, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details re. wheel dimensions. A subsequent owner converted the car back to street configuration before it was recently destroyed (again, see attached photo)- I'm not sure whatever happened to the wheels, seat, harness, 'glass bumpers, extra oil cooler, etc., etc. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, that's the ticket! Actually, I have had cars (Ferrari included) that were never rained on, but that definitely wasn't one of them!
