Does anyone know how the rad fans operate on my 79 308GTB i.e. are they both supposed to come on at the same time? At present when the water temp is high only the left hand fan comes on, and the right hand fan operates when the air-con is turned on, is this correct? thanks
No, both fans should run when the water temperature is high (but only the right hand fan operating when the air-con is turned on is correct). First thing to try (since you know that the RH fan motor works) is a new or different ...113 relay for the RH water fan position (relay C - "relay for radiator right fan").
also, check to be sure the radiator and engine are fully bled. if there is air in the system it will screw up when the fans kick on. regards, Paul
Thanks Steve and Paul I've sorted it. I stripped out the rad fans and found that one of the brushes in the r.h. motor was sticking, i carefully sanded it and replaced it. They now work correctly --- exactly as you stated Steve. Many thanks Phil
