    Anyone has a recommendation for an installer in the bay area that will do hardwired V1 radar detector?

    If in or near to San Francisco, call Rick Theis at Peter's Auto Radio, 2128 Lombard Street in the Marina. (415) 567-4678. He's been doing stereo, alarm, and radar work on high-end cars for years, and is the only such specialist to whom I have entrusted my Ferraris. He is also good at finding/fixing shoddy work from other installers who don't know their way around these cars.
