Regardless of which unit you go with, (Escort passport 9500ix or V1) the "cord" dangling down to the cig lighter in the 360 Spider would be a pain. Short of a overpriced 9500ci, is there any way to power the unit(s) from a more esthetically pleasing source. It's the "cord" dangle that bothers me.

Simple: hardwire it...no visible cords hanging down.
Most reputable installers can handle it in less than a couple hours.

Can't you buy a remote head unit for those detectors? I saw an installation on a 355 where the main body was up in the front of the car and then the little head unit part was mounted on the steering wheel area. It was very clean.

I had my V1 mounted up very high and above the mirror on-the-right (so it was not obvious), then the hardware down the a-pillar into the glovebox lighting for power, then THE REMOTE was stuck directly under the radio area. Still easy to see, but, no red lights visible. No wires to be seen either.

I have both the 9500Ci and 9500IX. After doing more researching for the last few weeks, for the Spider - the best protection and stealth will be the 9500Ci (or VI) + LI QUAD (besides driving sensibly). The cost will be about $3K. That is what I am going with on my spider. Anything else will leave you wishing for more later when it is too late (IMO)

    Best of luck.

Anyone know how to remove the dome light on a 430 to get to the wires for power?
