I have a 9500CI professionally installed in my 458, however, use the Escort Max 2 in other cars, which now has "arrows" (since Valentines' patent expired) and does the best job of any detectors as far as "experts" appear to believe. Of interest, many believe that the "higher" the location of the radar the better, however, both the reliability of the 9500CI, located low down and according to radar busters, the "lower" the better (read their explanation). Best
Yes.. the bumper has to come off and a lot of wiring needs to be done. If you don't want the control and display custom mounted or integrated in to the mirror you can get one installed for ~$1K but if you want it to look like a factory install it will cost more. ~$1K for an invaluable accessory on a $300K+ is nothing.
The WAZE app is an excellent compliment to any detector on the market. It has saved me more than my radar.
+458. I'm running a built in Bel str Radar and Anti laser priority 4 head system but the Waze app is priceless!
Is WAZE actually that useful? I assume that you need a WAZE user to identify that theres a speed trap at a location in order for it to be registered on the app...
Wave is incredibly useful and not just for speed traps but nav and traffic in general. There is more than critical mass of users providing info. Escort live requires no user input and it has saved my bacon a few times.
It looks basically the same as the 360 but I did not try it because I chickened out (did not want to take the chance). I have done it on other cars though.
I agree, I've done it on my BMW's but never on a Ferrari... So I'm a little chicken myself on this one
I did install a power lead from the dome light to my Passport IX and it works fine although I unplug it every time i use it. That reined my passport. I guess you ave to turn off the detector first before unplugging
