I have the same system (K40). Nothing visible except a couple of small lights in the dash and a knob in the center console. Pretty cool.

I have a V1, but don't use it much, partly becuase the cord is so akward. Does anyone know how to hardwire it and is there a different display available then?

Are you using the coiled cord? Try the straight one. They have a remote display unit. I have it in front of me and I keep the VI up on the window on the passenger side out of my way.

Tommy, Not sure I understand, is the display unit is totally different unit? I thought these units could be hard wired so you don't have all the chords hanging, but was not sure if I have to buy another dispaly to fascilitate that.

I have the V1 hardwired and mounted above and to the left of the rear view mirror...I've seen threads with some "how to" tips on this board so you might want to try and search.

Frances, thanks much for the link. Seeing some installs was one of the things I was hoping to do at the rampage, but one thing led to another.......

I recently installed a radar detector/laser diffusor combo into my GranSport. I went with the Lidetek LE-30 diffusor and Valentine One combo. I picked it over the K-40 due to wanting to keep the install simple as well as my feeling that this combo offers more performance, more flexibility and greater features.

I had the LE-30 installed behind the grill, virtually undetectable (although I may move it up a little) with the only interior component that you can see being a flush mounted LED that is on the top of the steering wheel cover. Speaker and on/off switch go up under the dash. The Valentine One is mounted on the Driver's side windshield just below the tint line. Good visibility forward and back and is also ideal for my vision and easy control. This position makes the remote display or the mirror etched display unnecessary(although the mirror etched display has more of a WOW factor). Since I wanted the install as clean as possible...I hardwired the V1 from the fusebox in the passenger footwell and had a female plug installed in the small faceplate covering the rearview mirror holder. All I need to do is attach a 4" cord to the unit and I'm good(still need to crimp a black cord). When I take the Valentine out I unhook the cord from the female jack and go...no wires hanging or dangling. This is a realatively simple install thats clean and very functional without having to have a significant amount of "kit" drilled into the dash.
