What is the best available ? And where is best location to mount ? 458 spyder
Ive had Passport-Solo 2/3 they were good but The Escort Redline has the best distance, I can shoot any CHP via KA Band for 2 miles out saved me about $5 grand in tickets the last 3 years
Had Laser Blinders on my Porsche. Went with High Powered Laser Interceptor on my 458 Spider, installed less than one week after taking delivery. Told installer I wanted no holes. Mounted to the black mesh grill very stealth. Make sure no holes are drilled into the body above the mesh grill, this houses the windshield washer fluid or some other fluid IIRC. Blue alarm light is on the left dashboard and On/Off switch beneath the steering wheel column. I received a little FOB with a half dozen laser frequencies, cool party trick to point and fire FOB at the sensors and have the alarm go off. 5 days after installation, LI went off when exiting freeway, less than 10 mph over speed limit but still very cool.
+1 Passport 9500ci Easy to read, no exterior holes. Can store irrelevant false positives. Eliminates superfluous noises. A laser jammer may make a police officer wonder why your car did not register sos Passport provides a way to make hide the radar if stopped and asked to start the engine, to see if you were blocking a signal. I drive long distances and have had a chance to compare stand alone radars in my other cars to the 9500ci and can attest to its effectiveness. I am sure valentine and some other are also good and have no personal investment in any system. Best
Escort 9500ci hands down - Valentine w Jammers runner up - have Escorts in all my cars - Drove to Canada from NYC - Caught over a dozen speed traps
The Escort 9500ci would be my recommendation. It is the most popular/effective radar we currently install in our Ferraris. We have them in stock at the Boardwalk Boutique. Please feel free to send me a PM if you're interested or have any questions.
+1000 for the 9500...I got the instant on from a hidden cop who had me dead to rights at 140mph and still accelerating. Full brakes, as we make eye contact and he tries to shoot me from the rear as well. I cannot comment on the others, I'm sure they are equally as good, but I'm sure I was saved from a very pricey ticket and probably an all expenses paid visit to the local jail because of my 9500ci.
Passport 9500ci all day. Have the display added to your rear view mirror. Extra stealth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have already made arrangements to have the 9500ci installed with the optional rear shifter and the display in red in the rear view mirror. Delivery expected in June.
Yes. Don't like it. Huge number of falses regardless of filter. Always squawking and I am not sure that the range is that hot.
I was coerced into a little "let's see who is faster" with a heavily modified ZL1 Camaro with well over 700hp at the wheels...on somewhat desolate interstate section of road we hit it from a 30mph roll. I was in my 997TTS bone stock and was walking away from him when my dash lit up like a Christmas tree...I thought FOR SURE handcuffs were in my future as I looked right at the guy with the gun in his hand...holy #$%@balls that is not a good feeling...142 was the last speed I saw, but was looking at the rearview mirror to see the ZL1 at the time so we were probably both going closer to 150. Worst part was the Z blew by me after I hit brakes hard and thought he was going to get us both busted, it was real obvious we were well above the speed limit. All I can figure is that the cop liked cars, because he could have still pulled us over and chewed us out and given us some sort of citation. Side note, I did get a chance to swap and drive the ZL1 later...even with DR's that thing would light it up at any speed. Way fun to drive, felt fast as hell, but AWD always wins in these cases... now if this damn snow would ever melt I'd like to get some of these warm weather toys back out of the garage!
I'm a Previous Laser interceptor owner and I was planning to have it installed on my 458 but I just read some not so good info about the laser interceptors not being able to jam the newer laser guns. Research it yourself. I just met today with a reputable installer who was referred by the dealer. He had a 458 coupe and Aventador which he installed both the Anti-laser brand of jammers. He sells and installs both brands but he stated the Anti-laser brand is easier to update. Another thing he told me is unlike in the past the cops had to wait for new guns, now their laser guns are upgradeable making it harder for certain brand jammers to keep up. Whatever brand you buy make sure its upgradeable and do you own research!
Yes, the front/rear integrated detector plus shifter. It is 3 years old so it may not be totally current, but it has not been a happy experience. Brain died after a year and needed to be replaced under warranty.
I've done the 9500ci on all three do my cars. The newest one released this year has upgraded laser blocker for the new guns too. Probably upgrade my old units for about 400 each..
As a former Valentine One worshipper, I am a big fan of the 9500. Have installed in my 458 (display in the rearview mirror in red) and my M3. Was rounding a bend on a local highway at 85 mph in the bimmer when I saw the locals on the left hand side of the road pointing that awful gun right at me. I could not have been more than 100 feet away when I saw him. Speed limit is 60 and I was certain it was going to be a bad day. He just stared at me with a scowl on his face but never moved to get in the car and come after me. 9500 definitely saved me big time.
