Hi, ...I slowly recon the end of my coolant radiator in my 456M GT. It's not completely broken yet, but shows a minor leakage as coolant drops evaporate during warm-up while idling. So have to look for exchanging it. An original one is rather expensive, hence I'm considering to get it duplicated via a radiator maker. Two questions regarding this; 1) Does anyone have good photos of a dismounted 456M radiator under different angles? Using those photos I should be able to get estimated prices shopping around. 2) Any experience with taking the coolant radiator out? Is it for example required to take the AC-condenser and oil cooler out as well. Particular the AC-condenser could be tricky as it requires a refill of the AC-system. Appreciate your response, regards, Jan
just have this one fixed. all the 456's end up with this problem sooner or later. mine did too. the dealer removed it, repaired it, and reinstalled it - for far less than a new one.
Hi Jan - just done mine - read this http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=358529 1 - I spoke to recommended builders of new replacement rads - there are at least 5 different types apparently of rads - nobody would quote or build a brand new replacement without seeing the original. ferrari want £2900 sterling lus vat plus removal and refit. I did it myself - complete rebuild and it now runs best Ive ever had, for sub 10 percent of F replacement cost - again PM me if you want the rebuild specialist here in UK - if you cant find someone where you are I suspect it will be worth shipping to UK to have done !! 2- see thread - just done mine - can email you pics if you PM me your email address. - havent had time to post up on here yet. also read my thread - clearly explains what has to be removed and what does not - for example many said take off bumper - but you dont need to. AC condensor does NOT need to be disconnected /removed - but care must be taken to manouver out of the way when removing rad and oil cooler. NO refill required. LOOK front left where air don hoses come through bodywork - (same place tha steering pump hoses come through - they are tight and often rub to the point of puncture - careful inspect required in my experience. Hope this helps

T-rutlands in Atlanta has this listed for $2500 and quoted me $2000 for brand new. Repair shop here in Jacksonville has quoted me $1500 to remove it, get it fixed and re install it. But mine is not that bad yet. I will replace when I see the needle go beyond 190.
just make sure your rebuilder uses a high performance core posts above mean I saved myself $1000 by doing it myself. - as the rebuild cost £269 plus VAT about $500 for a numpty like me it was 4 hrs to remove, and 3hrs put back (although I took a bit more time selecting stainless fitting and resparaying a couple of panels.) 7hrs into $1000 is approx 140 bucks an hour labour rate
