I think this must be a simple problem (I hope). The radiator fans on my 82 Mondial fail to kick on when they should. The fuse looks fine. Relay? Any tips on how to fix?
    Thanks

Could be the switch that is located in the bottom of the radiator (#37 in picture) - pull off the two wires and join together, turn on ignition and if the fans run then it's the switch.

Could also be a bad earth or a faulty relay.

Sam -- If you fail the test that Malcolm suggested, can you provide the Bosch(?) part number on the outer case of the "G relay for water fans"? The next thing to try for diagnosis would be removing the G relay and:

    1. jumping the right terminals in the relay socket (to simulate a "closed" G relay) and checking if the water fans run,

    and, if you fail that,

    2. confirm/deny if +12V power is present at the appropriate relay terminal in the relay socket.

But they don't give any part number information in the US Mondial8 OM for relay G so I can't get specific with terminal #s.

Mine just decided they want to run all the time!!
Come on whenever the key is turned to the on position.
    Any thoughts??
Fuse block finally bit the big one??

Can anyone recommend the wiring method if I wanted BOTH fans to come on instead of one and still have the a/c switch them on too (in case I turn on the a/c when the fans are not running at that moment)?

Yep. It was #37 in the pic. My bro in law is an electrician and he fixed it. Got the relay (std Bosch item) at discount from a friend in auto parts.
    $12.00

Had I taken it to the dealer, what, 1 hour labor plus maybe $60.00 for the part...maybe $200.00? I would have thought I got away cheap.
