Radiator fans Lucas type number

I've taken my radiator fan motors apart, found worn brushes on both, but worse, the plastic (bakelite?) base plate that the brush-holders are mounted on is broken in one of them.

The stickers with the Lucas motor type can't be read anymore, apart from the start of the designation: LE (which I suppose is for left turning)

Can anyone complete the number? Car is an '82 GTSi Euro.

The code on my fan-motors definitely starts with LE. I had an old Jag fan in the garage, but go figure, the motor on it was from Bosch! If nothing comes up I'll have to try and repair the base-plate with some wondafix or something similar.

Hold off with pulling all the boxes out of your ceiling, I'll make an attempt to repair what I have tonight, and I'll know by tomorrow if that was successful or not.

It looks like the repair of the base-plate is successful, so I'm going to install new brushes, re-paint the motors and re-install them.

I don't think there is any difference, both would have been equipped with identical motors/blades.
It appears that the Lucas type-number has changed though at some point, as mine started with LE, whereas others report on LU for earlier cars. No result yet for any later cars. The fans may all be interchangable.

The base plate is repaired, thanks to Mr. Pratley, now I need to get some brushes that can be made to fit, as the originals are NLA here.

I was thinking of doing a mod for something a little more modern, but I like the look of the two OEM fans behind the grille. With the US bumper they arte not that obvious, but with thee Eueo bumper they are quite visible. I just spent some time cleaning the housings of old paint and varnish and re-paining them. I think Lucas actually sealed these units with clearcoat after they were assembled, there's not a gasket in them.

They better work when I'm done....

 

All done and buttoned up. They spin and look like new, and with a little elbow grease I retaned the original motors.

On to the lightswitch, going to kill some ballpoints for a suitable spring...
