Maybe a PO bypassed(ba$terized, that is) the auto logic of the Climate Control System and wired them to come on with the ignition. If only one came on (I forgot if it is the left or right) I would say the button to engage the AC system is released.

    Hope this helps.

If this happened suddenly (didn’t previously do this and no one has worked on the car) it’s most likely the fan switch or relay. Be thankful it’s stuck on instead of off. I had the latter issue and had to stop the car and get towed to avoid overheating.

    Knew it!
Yes, not common. That's why I used the word 'ba$tardized'. I suspect as your ownership continues and you get to know your car better you will find more of that.
So keep an eye out for what doesn't look right and the good folks here will lead you to make the car righteous again.

You might want to go through the whole car to look for things like this. This reminds me of the first home we bought. The prior owner considered himself handy with repairs. Over the years we found all sorts of instances where he had wired or repaired things improperly.

May not be as ominous as others think. Depends on how long that particular owner (I assume the last) owned it. May have been a short time with relatively few miles.

Also is there a service record of a head gasket or heat related engine damage?

I can imagine this scenario :

So a mechanically unsophisticated owner has a 20k bill handed to him for motor work resulting from a $40 fan sensor which failed. He then asks his mechanic to jump the sensor so it will never happen again.

    Agreed.
But like many of us who bought these cars without a service history, it was a labour of love and we've turned around and gave them the love they deserved.
Mine was one of those and my advise to Josh is do it piece by piece.
For me, seven years later I can actually depend on it to start and take the wife and me wherever we care to do.
These days that means a long drive to nowhere, lol.

Looks like that’s what I am going to have to do go from top to bottom. I have only had the car for a few months I haven’t even driven yet.
It was just going to be a quick service and off for rego now looks like a complete going over this car was going to be my kinda sorta daily drive but as I pull it apart I am thinking where can I save weight how much more power can it make hear I go again down the slippery slope
I have just finished a 993 Porsche the same way just a quick service that ended up 900kg big hp license killer
