Hi Everyone, Just getting my act together to remove the radiator, so my last question for you all. Where could I find the upper and lower radiator hoses? Riacambi dosen't seem to carry them. I checked Italian Car Parts and it seems that they sell the hoses for $89 & $49...for 4 or so inches of rubber hose...can this be?? I would appreciate your suggestions on what to do....could I match the hoses up with hoses available from NAPA, etc?? Thanks! Frank
Here is the quotes I have in my notes. Not sure Who Im quoting though. "I would replace every hose section with either Silicone sections or Gates Green-Stripe" "The 308 is easy. It's all just short little pieces of 1-1/2" ID hose plus a 90 degree piece at the top of the radiator. Buy a 3' chunk of 609 at NAPA and an elbow, plus a box of hose clamps. Probably cost $35.00" The local parts store should have something that will work. Aaron
Here are a couple threads discussing finding the correct cooling hoses and suppliers. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195173&highlight=308+radiator+hoses http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226742&highlight=308+radiator+hoses http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154843&highlight=308+coolant+hoses
Agree with AAron, just get some stuff from local supply store (VIP, AutoZone, etc). it is just normal stuff for coolant.
Frank, Gates Green Stripe #24226 1-5/8" X 3FT GS 2 PLY STRAIGHT will cover all your straight lengths. Napa NBH 633 (7947) is the same hose, but the private label version of #24226. Either will run about $35 for a 3' length, which is enough to change all coolant sleeves in the car. You can order the Gates from Summit (IIR), Rock Auto or various other places online. I don't have the number handy for the elbow required for the top of the radiator. As another alternative, Dave Helms sells a kit that includes all hoses, clamps and the pet-cock for the coolant drain. Phil
Hi Fellas, Thanks for the imput. I will (hopefully) remove the radiator tomorrow and try to match it up at NAPA. They have a back room with 100's of different hoses there. I am ONLY replacing the 2 short hoses that connect to the radiator. So I guess then that it dosen't have to say "Ferrari" on it! BTW: I disconnected my A/C lines today, and there wasn't even the slightest hiss of freon in the system. FC
