I have very bad radio reception in my F355. More or less a brand new high tech stereo, so I am questioning the antenna. Is it the thin thread in the windscreen and is it know to be of bad quality? If so, how to improve without putting a visible external antenna on the car as that really sucks?

Yes, that is it. But, mine works reasonably well. You have to check for good connection at the radio and at the windshield.

the connection is made behind the right side vent. If you remove the vent, you should be able to see with a flashlight if the plug coming from the windshield is plugged properly to the antenna cable coming from the radio.

My reception is perfect. If you can't get it sorted out, they do sell internal antennas that you can keep in the dash but I'm not sure how effective they are.

Ever since my windshield was replaced,I have good FM reception but nothing for AM. Both worked fine before the windshield was replaced. Took is back to the dealer that replaced the windshield but they were unable to correct. Anyone have any thoughts there?

    Hi

Most likely the antenna pre-amp is the problem in my car. Ferrari p/n152497, made by Fuba (Germany). Anyone knows if this part is common in any other car, as the Ferrari original part cost a fortune compared to similar std car pre-amp?

two and a half years, 15K miles and I've never listened to my radio.
Though I do use it for thumb-drive music.

I've asked this before but never received any response. I noticed on my new windshield, there are two antenna leads off it buy only one spot to plug into the pre-amp. Before my windshield was replaced I had good FM and AM reception. Now I have good FM and nothing on the AM. Why would there be two leads and only one spot to plug in? Is on lead FM and one AM? If so, how do I connect them both? I never checked on my old windshield as both bands worked. Its a OME windshield installed by the dealer (because the broke the old one).
