I have some sort of interference on my '89 "ABS" 328's Radio. After 10 - 15 km on each drive i start to get a blipping interference over the radio that often starts after a hard turn. It seems to be related to the turning wheels ? and only occurs when i'm moving even with the clutch in.

At low speed it cuts out the radio in staccato type blips, this increasing or decreasing with speed to a rising and falling whine over the speakers.

If i stop the car carefully i can actually stop on a "blip' which then totally blanks the radio out untill i roll forward a smidge again. Revving the engine does not affect it.

Any ideas to fix it ?

I would first guess a loose ground wire somewhere. But you could have a faulty radio too???? The radio may have a bad component, such as a filter CAP in the power supply section. Could be a number of things, first i would check all the ground wires for the radio. If those look ok, try adding a filter on the power going to the radio, you can get those at a radio shack. There could also be something in the ignition system causing this problem too???

    My 2 cents...

I would agree with Tod. It sounds like an intermittent connection somewhere, and grounds on these older cars can get questionable. Also, check the ground on the antenna. I had an annoying problem with engine alternator whine coming through my AM radio. The fix was to actually replace the semi-automatic antenna. Even though the ground was good, tight and clean. Not sure what was bad in my antenna, but a new one fixed the problem.
