Having just learned that there was no 'stock radio' on a 328, now I want to
know what radio would be best (even though I can't imagine turning it on
while driving)? Blaupunkt seem silly. Japanese seems silly. Any Italian
makes of car radio? I know anything black would be better than the cheap
silver Kenwood that's in it... but it would be WAY cooler to have an italian
    model.

Also, can Car Toys work safely on a Ferrari? Or do I need to find another
'specialty shop' that caters to exotic cars? Car Toys has done all my other
stereos over the years, but I'm not sure if they should do my 328...

    Ideas?

Take it to Advanced Auto Design in Auburn. They have done Lamborghini's, Ferrari's and Maserati's for numerous folks on this board. Everyone is extremely pleased with their work:

    Dave,

Since you're in UP and mentioned Car Toys a long time friend of mine, Ren Caliboso, has been in the biz for many years. He has been the serivce manager at the Tacoma Car Toys for many years. I don't trust many of the young crew there but Renie knows his stuff. Be sure to call in advance and make a appointment to meet with him and he'll bend backward to make sure you're happy. I'm sure he will be more than willing to be the sole person on the car. At the least he can steer you in the right direction. Be sure to let him know Brian Ludig says hi and sent him your way. He and I are very particular and meticulous about just anything... especially if it has to do with cars.

    Ciao'

Thanks Brian for the info - what I probably will do is find a vintage 1986 Blaupunkt cassette unit, or
just AM/FM radio, and have Ren install it for me. I don't do much work myself, for lots of reasons.
But it's nice to know there is someone who actually CARES, and knows how to work with a car like
a F-328. I'll be sure to mention you. That's the branch I use all the time (on my Mercedes E500)

Install in a 328 is incredibly simple, as was my F355. Not complicated, but finding someone who cares, as you mentioned, is most important. Good luck.

You bet. It's not uncommon to request a trusted person(s) only. It's respected under Ren's watch.

    no question - www.benchmarkmotoring.com

Fairly certain you'd get this same referral from the local Ferrari dealer as well.

+1 Benchmark here too. Go with a nice McIntosh head unit, will ad a little class over a silver Kenwood.
