Hello Friends, I am in Southern California...anyone have advice on a quality radio I can put in my 360? I want to keep it as clean looking as the factory radio...but i admit I would love to have some type of GPS system....that usually involves having a screen. I mainly want to use my ipod and have SIRIUS built in. Any thoughts???? Anthony
I upgraded the radio myself on both my 360 and F430. This is something that you can easily do yourself. You just need to pick up a few adapters from Best Buy. If you want GPS, you'll have to go with a slide out face (which I personally hate) unless you can find an older single DIN nav unit.
I went with the Kenwood http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/eXcelon/1-Din_CD_Receivers/KDC-X896 Pros: Can match the backlight to stock, bluetooth, Sirius (which I don't use), Pandora, Ipod connect Cons: One knob, so kind of a pain to use. However with time, it becomes much easier. This is the first car radio I have had with Bluetooth where you can stream the music. It's brilliant. I stream Pandora or Iphone music and use the USB connect if I want to charge the phone. Now with Iphone turn by turn instruction, I find little use for built in Nav. Even in my Porsche where I have built in Nav, I usually defer to the Iphone app.
You will want to be careful to use the proper alloy of screws to keep from suffering corrosion in the aluminum. If your installer has significant experience with aluminum bodied cars like late model Ferraris, the Audi A8 and Acura NSX you should be fine.
i just bought a nice pioneer unit that had bluetooth audio and i use my iPhone as a nav device and for music. It doesnt look stock, but it looks fine Otherwise, Parrot has a nice minimalist look but their support is crap and looks like a lot of complaints.
Hi Anthony, here are a couple of options for your car. There is a new clarion flip out NZ 502 that has nav sat option ipod bluetooth etc it should be out shortly. Let me know if I can be of any help as I work on Ferraris every day.... Scott Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have this one in my 360: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-80PRS It's OK. The display and buttons can be matched to the cars illumination color. Has pretty good iPod control and a multi-line display for browsing music and a clean look (for an aftermarket unit). Radio reception is worse than the factory unit (which wasn't that good to begin with) and the display can be difficult to read during the day.
I fix the antenna reception issues all the time as most of the time the antenna amplifier lead is not hooked up causing poor fm performance... The other common problem is the antenna adapter can be defective but your reception shouldn't be any less than the factory radio... Scott
I went with a pioneer deh-x9500bhs and since it has some pretty neat led tuning for the color it matches the interior lighting perfectly. All the latest goodies and sounds great! Image Unavailable, Please Login
