Just a quick intro to your great forum. My name is Ricardo Singer from San Diego California and I just acquired Al Davis's 1983 Ferrari Mondial QV. Car was offered at Bring A Trailer and as some of you may know, the BAT community is key in commenting and arguing in favor and against a car being auction making for an interesting and constructive platform. So far, after 3 days of intense driving, the car is doing fantastic. I was not sure what to expect when decided to acquire a Mondial however having one two 308’s GTS and GTSi and one 1979 308 GT4, without a doubt the Mondial is “the drivers car” it is easier to drive than the 308’s while not being a modern vehicle,. It is responsive and direct. When I picked up the car I was nicely surprised to find that the sunroof was working, the window was working and the timing belts were in fact replaced 4k miles ago which is a good thing. The problem with the first gear was sorted out and guaranteed by Mike (Corvette Mike) so thank you very much for steeping up with this. The car is fitted with a Tubi Style exhaust system giving the car a deep classy and exiting sound. The transmission shifts perfect, super smooth Etc. Although the car has the A/C and another couple of minor issues to be sorted out, I deem this a great purchase which came PACKED WITH GOOD KARMA (so far) Image Unavailable, Please Login Thank you all for all the comments and critiques during the auction, it was fun.
Looks like we will both have questions about our 1983 QVs. Someone mentioned not enough activities on the forum, we will probably post quite a bit
Hello Kevin, congratulations as well. Keep us informed on your car and how things come to be. Will keep an aye out for you posting
Congrats!!! As a QV Coupe owner, I can safely say that I think you have bought the best of all Mondials!!!!! In seriousness - there are a bunch of great resources here in the Mondial forum that are always ready to help with any issue. Don't hesitate to ask. I've had mine for 3 years now. Very enjoyable and easy ownership. No major problems - other than a failed alternator. The car has been a blast to own and drive. I try to put about 100 miles a month on mine -- weather, time and work permitting. I try to take her to as many of the local car shows as possible, including the massive Dallas Cars & Coffee (I go about once a quarter). Sid
Thank you Sid. On another note, I do have a question for you and everyone else. My dash / instrument cluster seems tilted down making the top of the hard to see. I have read an old post about disassemble and adjustment however the process as described seems to me very difficult and the end result (the outer lower edges) of the cluster look separated from the dash and not very nice looking. Question to all: Is this normal or has my cluster and dash dropped? Any recommendations? Thanks
Yes mine is the same very hard to see the blinkers/indicator lights as they are hidden by the top of pod/console.. if you find an easy fix please share...
Thank you. The car is pretty and super healthy but not perfect, It has a couple of small issues to be sorted out and I am working on them. A/C gets done on 11/7 and its a minor issue and a broken "Stop Tie Rod Door" After this, car is "all done" Image Unavailable, Please Login

It has Speed lines 17" I didnt like them at first but they are growing on me. I would like to find a set of original "looking" wheels 17"
Hi , Thanks for the reply . Caribou used to sell 18" version of the original wheel , the only difference was its 3 piece as well. Unfortunately its no longer in their catalog . Luigi
