Circuit Paul Ricard in France was changed from the Monaco set-up to the Montreal set-up for teams could prepare for the Canadian GP. Raikkonen finished on top the first day, Scott Speed second, Heikki third.

Hamilton was fastest during the Monaco set-up the previous day, Massa second.

Again, this is only testing. Nobody knows the true fuel loads.

Is it just me or does Scott Speed seem to have picked up his game lately?

He looked good at Spain in practice and went from last to 14th on the opening lap. He may be a bit of a dolt but he is still the only American on the grid, I would like to see him improve.

I think the guy is actually pretty decent when the car stays together. I think he is quicker than Liuzzi, but I am pretty sure Berger is not crazy about Speed because he came with the team. Remember Berger and M. Andretti back in 1993 never got along particularly well. I think Speed is a dork out of the car, but not in the car.

Why would they? One was driving for Ferrari the other for McLaren.

I think you are right. Could be the threat of losing his job.

I was really impressed with Scott at the last race, and was equally disappointed that he had such bad luck in the qualifying and the race. The car looks like it's developing well for the team so hopefully he'll still have a job next year, even if he is extremely goofy.

Not to hijack this Scott Speed thread in the making, but Kimi lost track time this A.M. with an electrical issue with a cause not yet identified. This is not good. Can imagine what was going through his head this morning. Proabably dwelling on all the fchat posts slamming him for being too hard on the car and not being a team player :D . Wonder if he asked to go home early from the test if they couldn't get the car running? :D

Thanks for the info, when I saw the testing times earlier today I assumed it was raining due the difference in lap times.

It wasn't the driving for separate teams, I think after Andretti crashed over Berger in Brasil, and then hit Karl Wedlinger at the next race, the Austrian and US relations cooled off...

I'll leave my judgements for raceday. Unless it's a driver that's completely new to F1, then the testing times mean nothing. I don't know how many times we have to remind ourselves that we have no idea what the cirumstances are during that test. I will admit though, that Scott did well in Spain, better than Liuzzi. Too bad the car is crap.

I don't think the incident at Brazil did much for Berger's relationship to Andretti, if there even was something of a relationship, I just don't see how that would be relevant to his opinion on Scott Speed.
