It seems folks insist Kimi's already signed to a particular team - I find it interesting to read that HE insists he's still to decide on who to race for next season!

His comments sum it all up . . ."When I know exactly (where I am going) I will tell, but so far there is nothing to tell," Raikkonen told reporters on a visit to the Mercedes car museum in Stuttgart before this weekend's German Grand Prix.

"Everybody thinks that they know what I'm doing because one week I'm going to Ferrari, next week Renault and then staying here. It's funny to read in the newspapers what everybody comes up with but I'm in a good position because I can decide."

The Finn said again that money was not the biggest factor. "People always expect you to go where you get more money. In the end the money is important, but in those top teams where I'm looking it's not going to be much different. You want to have a good car and then the rest of the things need to be right also."

Raikkonen suggested that whoever he signed for, it would be something of a gamble. "Of course, I want to have a car that's a winning car but it's not just that. There's also many small things which might not sound a big thing for someone else but for me makes a difference in the end. You never know what's going to happen...you wouldn't think last year that we were going to have such a difficult season but things change quickly in Formula One, so whatever my decision is in the end, hopefully it is the right one. "But you cannot know it before you make it."

Smart to take his time with this, don't be the next Jean Alesi.

Nice situation for Kimi to be in: choice of teams and everybody wants him.
I hope he doesn't overplay it though, and find himself without a drive next year.
Team principals are patient maybe, but Summer is the time when they already plan for next year and sponsors want certainty before they commit themselves to deliver budgets.
Years ago, Senna played that game and Ron Dennis signed Hakkinen and Andretti for the following season: late in the season, every driver was contracted and there was nowhere for Senna to go. Luckily, Hakkinen was given a testing role - which he accepted reluctantly, and Senna was able to drive.

i think this is the reason Toyota haven't extended Trulli yet.

I do trust Kimi when he says he haven't signed with anyone yet. I do not trust paper saying he signed with team X.

I hope he stays with McLaren, I would like to see how he does against Alonso on the same team. That would be a great mix, if McLaren can get their chassis right next season. However, I have a feeling that Ferrari will walk the championship with either MS or KR in 07 due to the relationship with Bridgestone.

I would love to see Kimi go to BMW Sauber. Give them a real #1 driver to go along and chalenge the larger teams. I guess only time shall tell.
