Yeah, right. When was the last time *anyone* accurately predicted tomorrows weather -- let alone 7 days from now?

BTDT. I went to the first F1 there when it was in Sept. It was COLD!! And rainy. They had a Ferrari Challenge race first and it was fun watching them try to avoid spinning into each other. It stopped raining by the time the F1 boys started. I sat in the short chute between (Indy 500) turns 1 and 2 and it was a nice view.

I must have been sitting near you! I've gotten to where I start hoping one of the days is rainy when I attend a race.

I have changed my weekend plans to Mid-Ohio many times to coincide with the rain.

Indy F-1 2000, first practice Friday morning was wet. Watching from the mounds at the start of the infield straight. No traction control and you could see the drivers hands working hard. Friday morning 2001 and the first car out sounded like the engine was misfiring. It was. Traction control.

Trying to guess the weather in Indy a week away is like picking the lottery numbers...impossible.

That race was freezing. I still have my Ferrari umbrella from the experience, but it was nice to be there for the return of F1 to America. I don't think there has been rain at more than one F1 race since (Suzuka 2004?)

No rain in the forecast during the race tomorrow! I wouldn't trust a forecast for 7-10 days in advance.

<Sigh>....man - I really wish I'd gone this year! (of course, I said that last year, and look how *that* turned out) I think I'm going to seriously have to consider putting this on the calender for next year.

Where ever it is next year, you have to go. This is my second time here for the race in Indy, and love even more this time. The downtown atmosphere is always great, lots of Ferrari fans(and Ferraris) and F1 drivers wondering around. I do have one recommendation: Don't try to save money on hotels and tickets. You'll love staying at the same hotel as the drivers. In Indy, all the F1 people stay at the Conrad(very nice). We got some great tickets this year, and they were very worth it. They actually weren't too expensive, actually. I hope to see you at the '07 USGP!
