I voted Sebastian. "His first victory, for Toro Rosso in the 2008 Italian Grand Prix, came on a day when cars were passing each other on the main straight without knowing it, so great was the spray. Vettel took his first pole in the wet on Saturday and never looked back, winning by a comfortable 12 seconds. Before this his most noticeable wet performance had come a year earlier, when he'd smacked into Mark Webber behind the safety car in filthy weather at Fuji. Everyone forgets he was running third at the time in what was only his sixth grand prix. He later atoned to Red Bull Racing for that grievous insult by taking their first win – in heavy rain of course – at the 2009 Chinese Grand Prix."
I voted Max.... First of all it will be interesting to see what lines he will find different from the others... Second he is able to take more risk at the moment as both Seb and Lewis have to look at their chances for the WDC allready at this point of the season!
Im not sure. Wider tires with more power. I think the rain master might change or surprise us. https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/5day/l/CHXX0116:1:CH So wet practice, dry quali and wet race. Interesting!
On a side note; I still hope they have a proper start if it's raining rather than behind the safety car. If you don't have a standing start, you take away over 50% of the drama of F1.
Max is the current rain master IMO. That big back straight could **** things up though... Hamilton also very quick in the wet but Vettel, when he sniffs victory...beware!
Also keep in mind the reason he crashed into Webber was because Elton slowed down way more than Webber expected, causing him to brake (not being allowed to overtake behind SC of course)...Vettel who couldn't see because of spray hit him. His penalty was taken away and Elton only got a warning as too much time had passed already.
Nope, Seb in a competitive car. Max is a punk landscaper. Haha, [emoji14] Watch and see Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
I saw Bottas in Montreal qualify in the rain. The drove that car to the limit and qualified on pole if I remember correctly.
The thing with Kimi is that he can deliver a good performance, but you never know if he will be in the mood on the day...
KImi is not a rain expert...neither is Alonso despite a few good races in the wet....Seb, Elton and max are clearly the 3 best ones. between Sen and Elton i would say Seb without a doubt....but after max showing in Brasil last year...i'll have to wait to se who's best.
Yes fully agreed. Kimi has done good races in the wet but also bad ones, or at least not great compared to his teammate. IMO it's Max that truly is the best in the wet, but with Vettel being in a quicker car he'll have a better chance at winning IMO. Last year Silverstone in the wet Max was all over the Mercs. Even in his lowly Toro Rosso he was harrasing the much better Ferrari's and overtook the much better Red Bull of Ricciardo in 2015 USA GP.
Slightly off topic, but I really hope it isn't wet. Interminable delay whilst they wait to see if it might stop raining. Then tedious laps behind the safety car, going too slowly to bring the tyres up to temperature. Then when they finally do start everyone has to dive into the pits to get rid of the wet tyres they didn't want to be running anyway to swap them for the intermediates they all would have used if the rules allowed.
