http://www.f1racing.net/en/news.php?newsID=123593 Ralf Schumacher would like to see the American Grand Prix hosted somewhere else. The Toyota driver hopes Formula 1 won't come back in Indianapolis next year. He believes F1 doesn't belong there. "Formula 1 is a number one event and shouldn't be part of something," he said. "I hope we won't come back there," he told F1Racing.net. "I don't think Formula 1 belongs in Indianapolis. Formula 1 is a number one event and shouldn't be part of something. It might be a little harsh to say that to the fans, but on the other hand, it's America. People are flying there all the time, so they also would take a flight to Las Vegas or New York. I'm quite sure Americans like Formula 1 enough. They want a show. And we can give them a show if we want to. I've been in New York quite some times and I think it's more European style there than anything. So I guess a Grand Prix over there would stand a better chance." Ralf Schumacher never had many great successes in Indianapolis. More then once he crashed out in the oval corner. Going back there was not a great problem. "But you keep thinking about that corner," Ralf admitted. "In the end it's very simple: you have to go flat out, otherwise you don't stand a chance. I think both the tyre manufactures where on the safe side this weekend, after what happened last year. It was a decent weekend, but unfortunately I didn't score any points." Toyota had a slow start this season. The cars where not quick enough, but the team improved every week. "It was not difficult to improve," Ralf admits. "We had an unexpected poor start of the season. The potential was visible for us in the winter testing. We couldn't show that potential in the beginning, but we changed many things. But we are still having too many failures. That will be getting better. That's where size matters. Human recourses, other recourses And that is what we have. We just need some more time."
Figures he would say something like this after hitting that wall out of turn 13 in consecutive years. He's the one to blame for the Michelin pull out in 2005, lol!!!
I think you meant HE doesn't belong in F1. He should go to NHRA. They don't have turn 13 there. He'd do well.
LOL, I couldn't have said it better myself, too bad he didn't go to NASCAR instead of JPM. I heard he is good at Crossword Puzzles though.
actually, i think it's a perfect location. the fans' reception this year was pretty good, taking into account what happened last year. maybe they should have a 2nd race, s street race or something in Vegas.
I tend to ignore his opinions on tracks as he always seems to be first to voice a gripe. So far he has gone on record to slam Indy, Brazil, Monaco and Hungary. On race weekends he sounds like he should just stay home and I for one wish he would.
European. You mean like Brazil, Australia, Shanghai, Malaysia, Japan and Bahrain? Well now. That explains everything Ralf's a tool. He should realize that, were his surname not Schumacher, he never would have come within a sniff of Formula One. And for that he should be eternally grateful. Otherwise, he'd be doing tuneups (headjobs?) at the old man's karting track.
ralf is a putz. at least big bro likes indy just fine ! the other usa gp should be in someplace historical like watkins glen, or road america, or laguna seca.
By the same token, it appears to me Ralf doesn't belong in F1... Ralfie is echoing the same sentiments as we do, SURE, we'd love to have F1 at a 'real' venue, but the business-side of F1 simply won't support it anywhere else - YET.
I have to admit that the track is far from being interesting from a racing point of view for F1...for once I agree with him as usually he makes dummy remarks !
You mean like Magny Cours, Monaco, new Nurburgring......... Ralf should just go manage his porn stores and leave room for some talent at Toyota.
