It's been a while since we had a Ferrari In our rally series. Maybe they're weren't more because some of you weren't sure you knew how to do it! So here's the cure: the 2010 Rally School.

The school will be held on March 6th at No Frills Grill & Sports Bar in SW Arlington (4914 Little Rd Arlington 76017, 817-478-1766). Registration and lunch will be from 11am to 1pm, with the school beginning at 1pm. You'll get to take a short drive to illustrate course-following skills that you have learned.

To register for the school, please log on to: tinyurl.com/RS10msr

The cost is $10 per car (2 people). Extra students: $5.
    Children under driving age: free.

We look forward to seeing you there.

For those who may be wondering what this rally school is all about, here are a few comments from one who has attended.

Sasha runs a very good basic rally course. In a couple of hours he covers most of the basics involved in SCCA GTA (Gimmic, Tour, Activity) Rallies. Then class participants go out for a couple hour rally to practice what they learned in class. Everyone recovers back to the restaurant for lunch and a critique to figure out where your mistakes were. I have attended several rally schools and have found something useful in each of them.

There is always some questions as to what car to bring to the rally. Since these are NOT challenge type rallies requiring specialized rally cars, it is OK to bring any street car that you want. I personally rally in my 10 year old, everyday driver, Volvo station wagon. These are NOT speed events. Comfortable seats, good air conditioning and good visiblity are more important than raw performance.

The skills you will learn and develop in this rally series will serve as a foundation if you ever desire to participate in any of the national FCA rally events held around the country. If you have never rallied or have been away from rallying for a long time, this is a great way to spend a day refreshing your skills.
