Anyone up for meeting up in, say Port Jeff or somewhere around there and ride to the BBQ at the Old Stone Boys Club this Saturday? I figured that there may be some interest since the Hamptons Rally was rescheduled and folks are looking for something to do.

You can PM me or respond on the thread. If there's interest, we can come up with a meeting place.

I would have liked to do that, but unfortunately since the Rally got cancelled, I said yes to a wedding invitation already. I would be into it another day though.
As a matter of fact, I'm in the process of trying to set up a very casual Cars & coffee at The Bean & Bagel out east in Calverton. I have never been there, but was suggested by my friend, another Fchatter. It seemed like a great place for it. There is a large parking lot. I heard it's usually quiet there, and there is an outside area where we can eat, and watch the cars! There are supposedly some nice "driving" roads out that way as well. We are also looking into possible locations for some nice group photos while we are all together.
So far, we are narrowing it down to a Sunday (not sure when yet). It looks like myself and 4 other Fchatters so far, as well as our other car nut friends...the more the merrier!
If you are interested, PM me and I'll keep you in the loop when we try to pick a day that works for most.

Kudos to Ferrari of Long Island, Laura and her crew and the OSBC for opening up their facilities to a great time!

Braving the GWB/Cross Bronx nightmare, I took the 308 out for the 125 mile drive out to Water Mills. I left at 8am and didn't hit any traffic until Rt 27 near Sag Harbor. That's not to say traffic was a parking lot going back from Throgs Neck to the GWB and what awaited me on the return.

Anyway, I arrived early while Laura & crew were setting up. Besides the Maserati, FoLI was nice enough to bring along a Cali for a test drive. And to think Lorie had to ask if I wanted a test drive. Heck yeah!

I'm a die-hard stick person. This was the very first time I got to use floppies/flappies. I was disappointed. It needs a stick. But otherwise the Cali was a nice comfortable car with the usual Ferrari power.
I also tried the Maser GT convertible. Lots of wonderful growl and power and a nice shape. A true GT car.

The BBQ was good, the day beautiful, and the company outstanding. Even the singer was good. I mean when he sings Dylan to Jethro Tull, something is bound to make you smile.

It was great seeing folks I've met at Run-Out-East and other events. And I met lots of new friends. Rick, you & Jen would be perfect in the Maser GT.

And it was a great event.

The ride back was drama free until I got near the crossbronx. Thankfully a GPS with a traffic transceiver routed me through parallel roads so I only lost 30min to the traffic. And I found it amazing that they blocked off two lanes of the lower GWB stalling traffic and it turned out to be one cop blocking an exit ramp. Absolutely no working going on in the area. We got past that & it was clear sailing. But I'll save my distaste for the lack of planning for another rant. See you folks Wed at the Red Tomato event.
