At first, with this thread I thought you were talking about our own Ralphabco. He is a pimp in his own right, and could rival RL anyday.

 

I DO have a McLaren. A "special" car that was built in China. It is the McLaren especiale: - Muh Gu Gai Pan / 1:1/18.


RL ? His stuff is not in Wal Mart.

 

How would you know? I hear the only part of Wal Mart a River Oaks resident is worried about, is the stocks

 

It's in Costco though, a moved which probably gives $$ but cheapens branding.

I do not go near R.O.

 

He paid $2.75 mil, and while it's brakes were being tested it crashed in Englishtown Raceway. Already back in the U.K for repairs.

in this months issue of celebrity car(think thats the name?), theres an article on RL and his car collection. Some good pics of his cars including one of the Mclarens and few of his Fcars..

 

I know RL is a HUGE car guy. But why own so many McLarens? Could there be a small chance a few are simply for investment purposes? Not even sure if a McLaren would be a great investment, but it seems like 10 years from now there will be even less of them and the value would continue to go up.

 

That apparently is not uncommon, I read an article where Gordon Murray commented that a good percentage of McLaren owers have more than one. There is also that guy who has 3 Enzos. I guess you can't get enough of a good thing.

 

Not uncommon for McLaren owners to own a multiple- two other owners have 2- one in Boston and one in the NY Tristate area...

If you have the means, why not?

 

Which owner sold his LM? Also, I heard in some magazine that 70% of McLaren owners are original owners or have owned a McLaren before.

 

Frank Selldorff of Boston, MA sold Ralph Lauren LM03 - the only one of the 5 customer LMs here in the USA. Frank is also the owner of two McLaren F1 road cars - chassis #007 and #068.

I believe that this is Ralph Lauren's 3rd, and not 4th, McLaren F1. His other two F1s that I'm aware of are both road cars - chassis #055 and #074.
