Ran carfax, but no records? What does this mean?

    Guys,
    I'm looking at a car with service records from the dealer, however, when I run the VIN through carfax or autocheck, minimal records are found (0 for autocheck).

    Car is a 2004, but the only detail that shows up is:
    11/18/2006 5,953 Dealer Inventory Vehicle offered for sale
    01/25/2007 Dealer Inventory Vehicle sold
    08/08/2010 15,800 Online Listing Vehicle offered for sale

    I have never seen this before (usually at least shows registeration, title, etc). Any ideas? Car will go through PPI of course...but this kind of worries me.

    Just a guess, it might still be on the MSO and never registered. If the owner(s) had dealers licenses, it might never generate registration, smog test or lien records. Again, just a guess.
