Hi all, This is for my 88 Mondial. My transmission gasket was leaking around the gasket so I decided it was time to change it. I found 3 springs a ball and an aluminum cylinder in the pan. All seem to be in good condition. The magnetic plug was pretty clean and I’m not really having any transmission issues other than it’s hard to put into second gear when cold. I have no idea where they came from. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Johnathan Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ah, the famous detent balls. They came from the left hand side of the pan, in the gasket. Three balls, three springs and one cylinder.
Thanks for the quick response. Doesn’t sound to complicated. Do you know how they go back in? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
This photo describes where they go and how they are held in place by the pan itself: Image Unavailable, Please Login (One technique is to use/pack some grease in the holes to hold them in place before you bring up and install the pan. At the factory, the gearbox is inverted during assembly so gravity holds them in place before the pan is installed.)
