Does anyone here have a Range Rover who has had the Front Differential Problem?

I was reading rangerovers.net and 03-05' Range Rover's seem to have this problem. I have read that the problem will happen without warning and could be fatal. I guess there are many thinking about a lawsuit because there has been no recall. I am interested in getting an 03' but this problem seems too big to turn my head for..

Yup. There is a fix from the factory for it though (supposedly). Mine went out at just over 50k miles...luckily they good-willed and fixed it for free.

I don't know if it's fatal...the car felt like it lost most of its power with very rough acceleration.

Is your Rover still under warranty? I haven't heard of a fatal case, but people have been on the freeway then the car just shuts down I guess so it could've been bad...

I am really interested in getting one, I guess if it's under warranty then thats okay.

No its over 50k so it is out of warranty now. It has been a good truck otherwise, makes a great daily driver depending on your area.

I guess it could be bad, but I mean its not very hard to maintain control, it would be akin to shutting it off while driving at speed, only you still have full steering and braking control as well.

I would not get one out of warrenty.

Not sure what I am going to do with mine yet.

FYI, it has better steering feel and feedback then your S class (and my SL as well). Perfect balance of power-on oversteer/power-off understeer, making it actually fun to drive.
