Would that be currently or of all times? Some top collections may be broken up now.

Whats in Sachs and Pappalardo's ?

I know Sachs has one of my dream cars, the 315S.

Pappalardo has wound down the collection but in the early eighties was formidable indeed.
I know that at one point he had two GTOs,412P, TR59/60, TR58, 330P, 250 California alloy, 250 LM, several 512BB/LM new, 288 GTO, Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Le Mans winner and several others.
Sachs is very private so I will leave it to him to say. Wang is also a sleeper with many cars and triplicates in some cases. He once told me he bought just about everything he was offered in the eighties and sold nothing.
There are others but the car broker types would not leave them alone if we were to publically disclose their inventories.

All publicly-known, so no secrets are being divulged...

    250 GTO Series II s/n 4091
    365 P2 s/n 0838
    121 LM s/n 0484
    335S s/n 0700
    250 TRI/61 s/n 0794

    Former cars include 312P s/n 0872 and 500 Mondial s/n 0434.

Also, not sure if 312PB 0894 is in the collection any longer. Pretty sure there is also a 375 Plus still, also.

I also believe Pappalardo's collection may have been whittled down.

The important brokers all know where these cars are. There is always an occasional "find", but, generally, the multi-million dollar Ferraris (and others) are well-known. Nothing divulged is private.

Sachs also had a pretty 212 Coupe Vignale that went to Tom Davis. He did have a PB but that ws sold in 1983. Superfast III I believe which went to Greg Garrison.
    Mr. Garrison should lead the "former" collection category IMHO. Yet again a very private collection. Here are some other names from the past;

    Dieter Holterbosh
    Luigi Chinetti, Sr.
    The Gelles Brothers
    Seton (F1 cars)
    Walter Medlin

To name a few. Bill Gelles was racing a Stanguellini last time I saw him but he and is brother had just about one of everything at one time or another.

    0794 won '61 LM (!).
As Bertocchi indicates, 0894 left in '83.

Based on a Road and Track article in the early 90s this was/is a fairly large collection of cars, perhaps the most notable being 0858, though I recall reading about an F1 car too.

Anthony Wang and Sir Anthony Bamford have to have two of the really great current collections.

As an aside, of the *37* real GTO's (4561 is an SA built for Cavallier on a longer chassis fitted by factory with a GTO body/*Soapbox!*),
    Wang has 2 (3769, 4713)
    Bamford has 2 (3767, 4399)

There were about a dozen really great comp cars. Many of those have moved on but perhaps not all.

That may be the case but i have had professional relationships and friendships with several of these guys and one thing they all had in common was they did not want there cars discussed in a public forum.
Pappalardo did an article for Hors Ligne, a Swiss magazine, in the 80s but that is the only such thing I ever saw?

    Please add;

    Mozart
    Aurianna
    Walton

At one point, Swedish collector Hans Thulin was said to have owned some 40 Ferrari cars. Through his company Consolidator he bought and owned a lot of cars, among others, a Bugatti Royale. 1990 he "bought" a 250GTO (3607) at an auction, but he was abandoned by his creditors and was never able to pay for the car....

I have known them, also, for many years and agree that they're private about their collections. VERY private, in fact. But, there's also no doubt that this is all in the public domain, either. I would not divulge anything that wasn't.

I guess we should also include the ex-Kroymans collection, which is now with Tom Price.

Did he also purchase the 1936 Mercedes Benz W163 Gran Prix car from Joel Finn in about 1988?

IMO, you're being generous adding mozart to this list; nice collection, but no focus on Ferraris....
