Pierre Bardinon, sadly no longer with us, had the best collection by far in my book Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is a very nice book, which I have, but I also have the UK version that is called "Into the Red". ITR is otherwise identical EXCEPT that it also includes an audio CD with some fantastic sounds of the cars described in the book.
Not sure if he's been mentioned yet but Jean Pierre Slavic's collection is becoming mouth watering. He purchased the Chris Evans series II GTO last year (he already owns a series I). Great, informative website about him and his collection too: Jean-Pierre Slavic
Beside the GTO, the 250SWB, 250 GT Cal-Spyd., the LM, the P4 and the 275 Spyd. I found the collection very nice - but it can not cope with the Bardinon-collection. The cars from the other brands in Slavic`s garage are somewhat average....
Wow, Slavic's collection is really exemplary. I think no one will ever beat Mas du Clos in its prime, but Slavic is no slouch. His collection of astons is great too. He's got a DB4 Zagato. And I quite like the fact he owns many cars that a mere mortal could conceivably purchase. Means he's a real car guy, not just chasing trophies.
So the only jewel that is the real deal is the C.Evans series II? Shame. It was quite the collection until the bubble was burst.
Thanks for the info. Disappointing revelation TBH. Barchetta has Slavic as the new owner of 4675GT after a complete restoration. Maybe he's decided to start adding the real thing to his collection? Wonder if the AM Zagato is genuine?
Did not know that. Then I must take back my statement. Though I still like his more modern cars, too. That's what you get taking things at face value...
Look at The "P4" in his collection. Note LT hand drive. Obviously there are no real LT drive P4's. Pure Norwood replica. "The (L.H.D.) #23 'P4' filmed in Symbolic Motors' showroom, that follows immediately afterwards is the ex-Dennis Machul Norwood P4 replica, chassis #003, now owned by Jean-Pierre Slavic of Switzerland. Guys Probably you have heard that Mr. Zambrano passed the way. He had a heart attak during a trip to Madrid. So I am curious about his legacy to the car comminty. So please reply with your thoughts.. Why do you think he loved so much the ferraris and alfas? What is his legacy to the car comunity , how he wil be remebered? How many cars he actually had in his collection? Did he had any favorites? Any urban myths or legends regarding him? I actually met him on a trip to PB in 2002 and he was a humble nice guy. There legend says that he had more than 350 cars in his U.S. collection and 50 in his mexican collection .Mostly Ferrari. I also remeber him arriving to PB on a beautiful Falcon private jet , so I assume he also liked planes. Any ideas where can I find more info on his US collection? I hope his brother will continue with the collection.
Does anyone have any knowledge of what will become of the late Robert M. Lee's collection who passed away in January of this year? Paul
It is all in a trust. And Anne Brockington Lee, widow ob Bob Lee, is still showing cars (0483 SA on the 2-5 June 2016 at the Pininfarina Anniversary Concours d'Elégance in Alassio, Italy, where the car won Best of Show). Marcel Massini
Same here. I have several F1 Ferraris, 312B, 312B2, 312T, 312T2, 312T3, 312T4, 1512, 158, and Sports cars: 166, 215S, 340 Mexico..... In scales from 1/43 to 1/12 though. Perry
There is a gentleman living just north of Houston, last name Ramirez, that has...well, just about one of everything.
He was at Daytona ten days ago, showing the 212 Inter PF Coupé, the 250 LWB TDF Berlinetta and a yellow LF, etc. Marcel Massini
