That true, but who cares. I'm sure there is at least one in the world (me) that would prefer to drive and own a "wreckage" like the 250 LM rather than a LaFerrari Aperta, and by far :)

We are not talking about which onr is better, we are talking about which one is more fascinating or we simply like more than the others

"Better" is subjective. "Faster" is quantifiable.

Correct. By asking to rank them, my thought was how do they appeal to you. It could be design, power, history, etc. We all weigh the significance of these things differently. Its entirely up to you.

I do like my E-Type and every drive is an occasion, but it's just a piece of junk compared to my newer sports cars. I do get that people like different things, but if one hasn't actually experienced them, cannot really make an informed judgement. People often see the past through rose tinted glasses, but the harsh reality is that progress is relentless,

Great list, Joe. Always the lover of the classics (in chronological order). Your ranking would be mine on any given week. It's always changing. Love it.

This is obvious and we shouldn't discuss about a thing that is obvious to everyone: The newest is always the best, of course. But I don't care if the 288 GTO and the F40 are undriveable, more dangerous than an hungry tiger and as slow as Ford T if compared to a LaFerrari.

I simply think they are better looking an more exciting to see. I don't want three laF for one 288 GTO

    Ciao

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder my friend and I would never argue over aesthetics. A motorcar though is a machine that allows us to cover distance at great speed and that is the most important feature of said machine. Based on that, the best Ferrari is the next one, as Enzo famously said! ;)

    Cheers!

My list, based on all their values being €1 and I could only sell them for that:

    1)F50
    2)Laferrari
    3)Enzo
    4)F40
    5)288 GTO

Should be noted that my height is taken into account for this, F40 and 288 GTO are very small inside. Enzo would be much better for me to drive. If I'd fit in an F40 reasonably well it would swap places with the Enzo.

288 is stunning, can't fault it, but out of the 5 it's never been as high on the ''want'' list.

Actually this is a ranking I can get on board with, not having driven the 288. Maybe I'd flip 4&5.

I'm 6' 2" with experience in all the cars on the list, and I don't find the F40 & GTO to be relatively small to the others.

Specifically, I find the GTO, with its two-piece folding traditionally-mounted seats to afford plenty of headroom. The austere cabin with no intruding center console, flat-topped dash-board, lots of side and rear window visibility (unlike the F40) and lots of foot and legroom make the car feel positively spacious to me compared to the later cars. Noteworthy too are the low sills which make entry & egress the easiest of all the Supercars and you have a winner as far as space is concerned.

I should remark that the USA F40 with its Tipo USA two-piece folding seats is similar to the GTO with plenty headroom, but rearward visibility plus entry & egress are not as good.

None of this by the way is the reason the GTO is my number one.

It is top of the list because it is the first and will always be the first of the Supercar series, it was authorized by Enzo himself with Motorsport intent and FIA Homologated, it is the rarest, and it is the most beautiful.

    +288! (272)

It's the most beautiful also because it still has the (not much modified) shape of the 308 GTB, one of the best looking and purest Ferrari ever, a Pininfarina (and Leonardo Fioravanti) masterpiece

Joe - I'm curious - on the 288 - do you prefer the all black seats or the black seats with red fabric inserts? Personally, I prefer all black.
