With considerable reluctance, I have decided to offer my 1987 328 GTB for sale. I'm the fourth owner and have been its obsessive caretaker for 11 years. It is a gorgeous car, inside and out, and has been religiously maintained primarily by the legendary David Feinberg (Fastradio on Fchat) of Ferrari Service of Bedford here in NH. David knows the car intimately and can attest to its condition.

Those of you looking for a 328 GTB already know how rare they are (only about 130 produced for the U.S. market over the 328's four-year run).

    BASIC INFORMATION

    VIN: ZFFXA19A0H0067255
Current Mileage: 28,825 (I will be driving the car, so the mileage will continue to creep up)
Interior Color: Beige leather with red carpets
    Exterior Color: Rosso Corsa
Included: All keys, tools, spare tire, books and manuals, stock exhaust and catalytic converter (car is currently fitted with a custom exhaust), and most service records (all records from my ownership are included)

    Price: $135,000

    Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrX8PEQiUW0

Here's a quick summary of its needs and strengths:

    POTENTIAL NEEDS

The asking price accounts for the following potential needs:

    • Staining on fabric in front of rear window (as shown in photos)
    • Minor wear on driver’s seat bolster (as shown in photos)
    • A few paint chips (as shown in photos)
    • The center cap on one of the wheels has a stone chip (as shown in photos)
    • Air conditioning does not blow cold
    • Lazy tachometer in upper rev ranges (see video) – tach seems accurate down low, but lags behind once the revs get above 5,000 RPM or so
    • Engine intake manifold’s red coating is peeling and could use a refresh (as shown in photos)
    • The car will need a major service within the next year or so (price can be negotiated to have major performed prior to sale)

    STRONG POINTS

    • Rare GTB in a classic Rosso Corsa/Beige combo, with the unique addition of red carpets.
    • Relatively low mileage at 28,825 miles.
    • Excellent (almost perfect) cosmetic condition inside and out.
    • Drives even better than it looks – tight, responsive, raw, and agile – and sounds heavenly with its custom exhaust.
    • Fully sorted and reliable – maintained exclusively by well-respected Ferrari specialists over my 11 years of ownership.
    • Wheel and suspension modifications (details provided in write-up) are period and marque-appropriate, meant to enhance aesthetics and the driving experience. The F40-style 17” Compomotive modular wheels nicely complement the 328’s lines, are no longer made, and are quite valuable.
    • Original exhaust and catalytic converter are also included.
    • All books, keys, and tools are intact and included.
    • I have most service records (and all from my ownership), which are organized chronologically in a binder that will come with the car.

Please PM me if you're interested and I can answer any questions and also provide you with a very detailed write-up of the condition and history of the car (including service history).

Beautiful car! But can I suggest something? To get the right customer, you may want to paint the intake plenum and get the ferrari stencil back on the airbox. Also I don't know whats written on the radiator overflow tank but that also detracts from an otherwise clean engine compartment.

    GLWS

Nevermind, I see you have addressed the intake issue.

I just want to make a clarification. There were approximately 135 made for the US market but world wide there were 1344 cars made (from memory so if I am off by a couple, forgive me).

Anyways, that number is wrong by a magnitude of 10 and that's a very material error so I wanted to correct it before people get the wrong idea.

Yes, and thank you! I should have been more clear in my description - I meant about 130 produced for the US market, but I can see how my statement can be easily misinterpreted. I will clarify my description ASAP if I can still edit my original post.... Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

There's a lot more detail in my write-up of the car (too much detail to post here), but in reading back over the description, I thought it would be helpful to at least highlight some of the preventative maintenance work that has been done to the car over the course of my ownership:

    - All suspension bushings replaced, front and rear - polyurethane bushings used wherever available and appropriate for handling and longevity benefits
    - Original shocks replaced with Nick's Forza Ferrari coil-over suspension (double adjustable for compression and rebound)
    - Steering rack rebuilt
    - Clutch replaced
    - All coolant and radiator hoses replaced
    - Fuel pump replaced
    - Fuel injectors replaced
    - All fuel and vapor hoses replaced (including all fuel tank hoses)

None of the above work was required to address any running issues, simply to ensure that the car would run and handle like new (or maybe even better than new?), and could be driven and enjoyed without worrying about potential hidden issues.

I will be taking some undercarriage photos shortly to show off how clean this car is underneath as well.

Nope, you're right: 1344 is the "universally accepted figure", even if from time to time you still see "1095", which is wrong. I have already given the production by calendar year.
To the best of my knowledge, no-one today has the complete list of all 1344 GTB built (but some of us are working hard at this...)

1344 is approximatively the same production figures than the F-40 (1315 or so) how about that?

And remember, folks: the total production run of the 328 is 7413, not 7412.
1344 GTB, 6068 GTS and ONE factory produced cabriolet, chassis #49543, still going well today in Italy.

1311 is the actual F40 world wide number and of those, 212 are US cars. So for comparison's sake, there are more US F40s made than US 328 GTBs but slightly fewer for total production. That's not very many 328 GTBs!

The 328 GTB was not even produced at all for some export countries:
for instance, Australia was allocated a production of 152 328 GTS (which are in fact US cars, but with RHD: the "X" engine with cats, long lip nose, flag mirrors, etc...) but NO GTB at all was build for the Australian market. Any 328 GTB in Australia is a RHD car from another market (usually UK).

The stance and the TS17's really set the GTB off perfectly, that is a very very pretty car.
