Hi everyone! Im about to buy a 348 GTS in Europe. Ive done all the checks and its clearly a GTS: VIN, doors without stripes inside, higher intake manifold with the different stripes, 1994, documentation. Everything fits but one single thing. The chassis type is F119AB5.2 a number which Ive never seen in any other 348 or Ferrari car before. Ive read in the forum that GTS have the F119AS5.2 type and that the GTBs have the F119AB5 type but this kind of mixture between the two is completely new to me. Does anyone have an idea about why? Or where can I look for more info on this just to check out if everything is OK with the unit? Im attaching a picture with the chassis type number. Thanks a lot in advance! Someone for what ever reason has fitted the wrong plate the” B “ instead of “S on a GTS . Dig deeper into the history in particular and gaps in the milage collection .
Thanks a lot! Do you think it could be a false plate? Ive seen the whole history and everything looks perfectly reasonable except for that letter in that plate.
Just for information (maybe useless in this case), other different details from T to GT version: front grill with 9 vertical element instead of 5 and a perimetral black trim, different "stitching" on the steering wheel, aluminium knob, total body color painting, raised air intake plenum with "arrow like" streaks on the top.
Possibly a typing error in the plate manufacture (B instead of S). It appears that the chassis code F119AB5.1 is used on 348 GTB but I could not find any records of code F119AB5.2
