Hi guys I was curious if anyone has a list of the rarest Ferrari 550 options in order and how many cars were optioned with them out of the full run

What is harder to find are the MSW aftermarket options. I think the cars with those bits are the desirable ones. There are about 10 cruise controls and 6 rear bonnet FOB openers and maybe a dozen switchable steering ECU's. There are a good number of MSW visor fixes and the COP conversion units are back in production.

Agreed on the MSW goodies. My search of those MSW cars was "intense"......

@Cribbj without being too gauche has anyone asked if it is public knowledge where your 1999 550 ended up going?....maybe it stayed in Texas?

Plus to answer @Ferrarienthusiast71 I'd be interested....I don't think anyone has the options broken down......I'd wager some of the "must ask for" items like:
+) Quilted headliner is very rare

For sure Carbon on the 550 was a low take rate (maybe only offered in 2000 and 2001)? I still shake my head at what a silly low price Nifty's 550 sold for....carbon and full fabio exhaust is dead sexy....and I liked his interior color as well.

Is quilted headliner the rarest option? If so how many were made

Is the 2001 550 the only one with the "F1 championship" plaque on the dash?

MSW stands for Maranello Skunk Works. Attached is a summary of how they've improved the Maranello.

Factory Scaglietti options, UK version. Note Ferrari never published any data on how many 550s (or most Ferraris) were fitted with which options and painted which color. Data from registries is the best there is and incomplete at best.

Right, MSW is not factory. It's two Forum members here: Dave Burch (ferraridriver) and John Cribb (Cribbj).

Racing seats and carbon interior + roll bar are the rarest options.

The 550 had very few options though.

I don’t recall if they had different sizes for the 550 seats?…,I recall seeing the 575 I think had 3 different sizes for the racing seats.

Did any US-delivery cars come with the roll bar?

Not sure on seat sizes, on roll bar for US unless it was added after the sale I doubt it, because they are/were illegal in this era I'm 99% sure on.

WSR was basically a combination of certain Scaglietti options and a plaque commemorating the records.

Roll bars and 4 point harnesses were not available on US Maranellos.

Only 2 WSR cars were US spec out of 33 total. 10 were RHD, so only 23 LHD cars with 21 ROW and 2 US spec. They basically had all the options that were presented in the Carroserie Scaglietti brochure - which many of those options are shown in the above image from post 11 of this thread! Note a couple of the options were not available in the USA, those being the roll bar and the four point harnesses.

Then the rarest 550's would be the WSR for a coupe and the Barchetta for open top car.

The quilted luggage shelf and head liner were to me no brainer options but neither was very common. The carpet in back looked very cheap. It also kind of flew apart when driving at very high speeds with the window open as an old client was want to do.
It reminded me of a 250 Lusso with the quilting. I never understood even building them with the carpet.

Right, Brian. My rear shelf carpeting detached at Daytona. Windows had to be open on the track...

On the same day, the rubber molding on the front wheel arches started to detach. They were reattached at the shop and riveted in spots to keep that from happening again...

A little extra excitement at the track. :D
