I wanted to respond to BigTex who said they are as common as dirt and to look at Ebay and pick your color. I ran a check and it seems that the 360 is the most common, with about 66 listings, and the 308 came in at about 10 listings, the 328 was pretty rare at about 5 listing, with the 348 at around 10 listings and 355 a bit more common at 18 listings. So, just based on that, it seems the 360 is as common as dirt and the 308 is less so.
That WAS my comment, as the discussion turned to the current models. Sorry, I meant the 360s on eBay were as common as dirt....... See my lengthy post on 3X8 series, I KNOW how many of those there were! Two 1977s are in my driveway! LOL! I may pick up a third 1977 NON CAT and would go for a glass car or dry sump before I add a carbed 512 Boxer....need to add another garage on site.....
That's a sad pic, Dr. Barry...... Hey! Can I have those left over tailights?????? LOL! Where's my toolbox? and the Sawzall!
I personally know someone with a glass and steel 308 GTB, not a traga car. It technically does not exsist and was put in somewhere in the mix. It is part steel, part glass
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ferrari-308-GTB-1975-Fiberglass_W0QQitemZ4651629435QQcategoryZ18180QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Nice looking car but a tragedy that it lost it's innocense
Wow! a 1975! THAT's rare enough to buy it and start restoration. Strip add ons, restore interior, I have OEM wheels... AND GET THOSE WINGNUTS OFF THE AIRBOX!!!! ROTFLMAO! I dunno why that grates on me so much! Knurled thumbweels are correct. No rear roof spoiler, unless show car as Dr. Barry posted, central roof antenna is correct.
Wrong (later) hood vents, good grief that front spoiler is, uh....deep! Still is that a fair price? Could be......Man, I could use those seats in Lady Valeria's blue car.. LH drive....calling England....calling England!
96Cobrakid, Most early steels are actually composite like that, steel referring only to front clip, door and roof and quarter panels, hood panels were all aluminum. Lower bodies and floor pans on 1977s were mostly fibreglass. Although eventually my second later car went to a steel lower front valence. My early car has the same part in glass and I think a lot of them are glass repros at this point due to incidents....... HTH
Barry got it right in post #26 above if the question is only THE "rarest" 308 produced. The legendary (some say mythical) 308GTB4 #22711. Only one was produced and it may not even exist anymore. If it does still exist it is #1 of 1. Can't get any "rarer" than that! As far as "most valuable" the Michelotto cars would be tops by a long shot. Here is a pretty good source for production numbers and stats. Keep in mind that Ferrari themselves may not even know the truth about exactly how many cars were made, and nobody knows how many of each are really left. According to these numbers there were a 13,155 308s produced in all the variants. http://www.qv500.com/ferrari308mr.php

The car (or is the driver) wasn't really fast, and had always to do 3 or 4 rounds to warm up the car. Mr Dantinne ( the owner) had a good looking american mobilhome to come with his car to the track. I wanted a 328 GTB (reliable and refined) but they were around $50k and I wasnt even sure I could fit comfortably in one. Then one day I saw an glass GTB on Ferrariads and the rest as they say is history! I knew glass cars were rare but in time I have come to understand how lucky I am to have bought this car. Not only did I buy an obsolute bargain but the car has been fantastic! How did I ever manage to wrestle this car from all the glass GTB lovers when I wasnt even looking for one? I think I got a little help from a computer glitch that was wiping out the classified ads on fchat last year. Whatevever it was I thank god every day for having the opportunity to own this car!
