If we are to be objective we cannot count the Bahrain incident as Lewis's fault. Bottas was deemed at fault and penalised accordingly. I agree 50-55 points lost seems more fair.

Re Lewis and massa; Lewis had a lot of misfortune of his own and was robbed of 07 title as well. My point regarding the 2016 title was simply that all the bad luck was extremely one sided which I'm sure everyone agrees with.

Nevertheless it's good to see nico get a title so grats to him

I don't agree with it, you make your own luck. Elton has caused as much carnage as he has received, it's just karma paying him back. He didn't deserve 2007, and didn't get it, he didn't deserve 2008 but did. Nico or he could have won the last three years, in my opinion, without Wolff and Laudas total support and turning a blind eye to his bull****, he'd be extremely lucky the score was 2-1. With their ridiculous favouritism it was supposed to be 3-0, and I take a lot of pleasure in his fans discomfort that it wasn't, and he got beaten by someone they claim is rubbish (of course now they don't, they reckon now he is a match for anyone, except, of course, the man he beat fair and square - you couldn't make this **** up!)

I would not have penalized Bottas if I were a steward. Technically Hamilton hit Bottas, not the other way around. Hamilton allowed Bottas to take position on the inside. Hamilton had tons of room on the outside to allow both cars to make the corner. He also admitted he never saw him. That is my objective opinion. Bottas was also surprised by the penalty.

He robbed himself of the 2007 title in the biggest chokejob ever. Beaching his car in the gravel by the pit lane at China. Yeah his team shouldn't have left him out so long on those tires but the mistake was his.

I think it was not the "fault" of Hamilton but Lewis could have avoided it...After loosing the start to Rosberg he did not look behind him at all as he only concentrated on the team duel. So instead on covering the inside he left room for Bottas. Even if the move of Bottas was "ambitious" Hamilton should not be surprised because most likely he would have taken the gap as well if he was Bottas...
And we learned this year: being at fault and being penalized is not necessarily the same.

Concur with your assessment. I would have ruled it a racing incident personally.

Hamilton didn't leave room at all. Just because he's in the fastest car doesn't mean he shouldn't expect people to still be there, even though that hasn't really been the case in the last 3 years.

Not really. Can't be bothered writing it all down again but Rosberg had about equal bad luck (bad luck isn't just measured by mechanical failings but also by being hit by other drivers or your teammate)
