For a photographer, it's great - but I am not sure being unable to do that is a problem... my experience has been there are tons of places from which to photograph the cars all around every track, not just in the stands.

I guess I am just saying that for everyone who thinks it's a good thing, I am sure there are people (IMO, probably more people) who consider it a bad part of a race. I think Silverstone and Indy are the exceptions, as I know they don't do that in Monza, Spa or Montreal.

Be careful with Korea - it was a joke this year, I think.

We stayed in a love hotel due to lack of options (also a bit of lack of planning). It's kind of hard to separate the experience, because I feel like it will be a lot better next year.

It's like 4.5 hours away from Seoul, which complicates matters as well. The city is not cosmopolitan by any stretch of the imagination.

I have been to Monza, Imola, Barcelona, and Silverstone - some of them a few times between '89 and '03. I then had a few years off and went to Spa in '09 and Silverstone and Spa last year. I would imagine that many of the Grand Prix experiences I had before 2003 would be different now - especially Barcelona. When I went to Barcelona it was cheap and didn't sell out. It was before the Alonso effect!
My step-son who is now 14 and I had a great time at Spa in 2009 and met a great gang of people from around the world. If 2010 had been our first time there I think we would have hated it as the weather made everything such hard work. Luckily we met up with the same gang as the previous year so we had a great time.
I was extremely impressed with Silverstone last year. The event is so different when I compare it to the late nineties races I went to. There was so much to see and do and I'm sure the food prices had actually gone down. Being a British Ferrari Fan at Silverstone is a unique experience, but it means there is always someone to have some banter with!
I raved about Silverstone so much when we were in Belgium last year that many of the gang are coming over from the US, Germany, and Brazil to experience it this year - I can't wait!
