So I've got this annoying rattle I need to stop. It's a definitely a resonance driven sound that happens around 4500 rpm. It seems to be coming from the right rear of the passenger compartment. It sounds like a piece of trim, but nothing in the interior appears to be the source. I'm going to check the engine compartment next. Here is what I have identified as possible culprits to check:
    1) AC hoses
    2) Gas tank strap
    3) Airbox inlet piece
    4) Exhaust heat shields

    Any other suggestions?

Could also be the manifold heat shield or the air con clutch or the alternator shield or the starter motor shield, steel cooling pipes hitting the r/h fuel tank, water pump or timing belt bearings or timing belt tensioner.
Sounds like your describing a rattling heat shield.

I would second the heat shield.

Washers, loose nuts, you name it, you can even get it with the heat shield over the starter motor.

Mine occured around 4600/4700 rpm....... I know it is the shield on banks 5-8

Usually easily fixed just a PITA to find the cause, in any case not of any significant concern though.

My guess is the AC hose. I had the same problem until I redid the AC compressor and moved the hoses a bit. Noise went away.
