Hi All, Recenlty I've purchased my first Ferrari - an '06 612 HGTS in Nero Daytona. It is great drive and what a dream come true My first 2k KM's have brought nothing but joy and some petrol costs Recently however I noticed that the car produces a sort of squeaking noice when driving over a speed hump or a non-flat surface - but only during the first 5 minutes of the journey.. For me this makes no sense, but I am hoping there's someone on this forum that may have some pointers or even experienced the same problem. Much appreciated!
Ball joints? I had the same, especially at low speed manoeuvring and initial take off. Many better qualified will confirm or refute this.
That is actually quite a good one I think, thanks I will try to check those. I had a similar issue with a Volvo years back which I completely forgot about, but indeed that turned out to be the ball joints.
Well its been a while - posting for possible future users. The problem turned out to be front side upper ball joints - nothing spectacular as an outcome so having them replaced as we speak. Next to that I am also having all the sticky buttons done see the attached file. Furthermore it turned out that just below the side mirrors there was corrosion on both doors so that will be fixed as well - I was a bit surprised by this. Does anyone happen to know if this is a common thing for these kind of cars? Thanks in advance! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just got a 612 as well and after I wash the car I get some squeaking of suspension for a few minutes. I think I’m getting about 1 gallon per mile on the fuel burn. [emoji23]
Ah yes the fuel consumption is beyond anything I had anticipated.. I am able to get 3 km's out of 1 liter, which comes down to 7 MPG. But congrats on your 612 I really enjoy mine hope you do as well
Happy I was correct on the ball joints! Who is doing your sticky work and what approach are they taking?
It's a NL-based company - here is their website: www.stickypart.nl The de-assembly and assembly is being done by a ferrari specialist not my cup of tea
Thanks Mark, I agree, it isn’t for me either… I am not as brave or as dexterous as our other friends here!
