You've done a great job with the board. What people seem to forget is that MM left on his own, with apparently a big snit (I haven't read his rant, nor do I intend to). If he had issues with you, he could have dropped you a note, or called you, instead he decided to make his rant public in an apparent attempt to embarss you. He could have done that same thing with me, he's got my email address or he could have PM'd me. He didn't do either. Apparently didn't want reasoned discourse, only drama.

The actions speak for themselves: childish. His friends and followers look at only what they want to see, rather than the entire picture. Guys like Texas Mike are wearing blinders, self imposed from what I can tell.

The garbage some of the most "well respected" users post here is like reading a truck stop bathroom wall. It's funny, and entertaining, but is really Lowest Common Denominatior behavior at its finest.

Darth. You know I try to be even handed. I didn't think Art was doing the right thing, and said so. I speculated that some of the complaining folks here would behave just as badly, or worse, if the tables were turned. I think the history of posts on Fchat gives me plenty of reason to say that the speculation is well founded, don't you?

Rob, on an overall basis you do a great job with a great forum. Texas Mike, I and many others were very surprised to see you:

1. Issue a mod room warning about MM
2. State MMs post count - to try to somehow reduce his contribrution value
3. Say "Bye Bye please - with sugar on top
4. "Last thing I need is a bunch of drama queens crying, *****ing, leaving, coming back, leaving, coming back... Just GO!!!"
5. "When things died down and he needed a little attention, guess what, he came back!"


Now you are calling for

Rob, when you are running a business you will have tough issues. The way you handle tough issues is important. Dave leaving F-chat is a blow for the community. Numerous people feel that MM was unfairly banned and the victim of double standards based enforcement. Whether it is because Art threatens legal action or people just don't like MMs or his party affiliation (even though he confined all his posts in question to the "P&R" section) he was singled out. Texas Mike, I and others are disappointed this happened and surprised at how you handled it. Your comments, actions and inactions speak loudly and clearly. Call it fiber, class, dimensions, facets, whatever ever you want. The point is you are showing more dimensions, facets, elements of your style.

MM was well liked on this board (excluding the usual liberals, Art - TVR - Joel - Asian Bond, etc.) His departure unfortunate - but avoidable. Your reactions very surprising.

Rob, I WAS planning on subscribing and if the people in S.A. tell me what you say they will, then I may still subscribe. I am publicly responding to your PM and your post since you set such a different tone publicly. You didn't call me scum in my PM but you do it publicly. That's cool, I don't let it bother me because I know you don't know me. I didn't think my post way out of line considering some of the other post I have seen. I guess I am seeing that double standard that some others are also seeing. Is it because I don't know you or is it just because I was talking about you. I was judging your class by the posts you have made. I thought they were of rather poor taste coming from the owner of the sight who's revenue depends on gaining sponsors and users who will frequent those sponsors. Sure you could say that I don't own a Ferrari, so what good am I to your sight but, that not very good for business. You don't know how close I may be to purchasing my first Ferrari. I have been lurking for much longer than I have been a member, so I may know more than you think.
You publicly called me out early on for what reason I don't know but, you could have told me any problems you had in a PM or email. What are the definitive rules? Are you going to ban me for posting this or are you going to ban me if I refuse to publicly apologize, which you demanded in my PM? You did threaten that I will suffer the consequences if I do not apologize. I am interested to know what the consequences are for not apologizing to you Rob.
I have never used any profanity or posted any vulgar material.
I will talk to Dave, Mark and who ever else I meet that knows you this weekend, and if they tell me what you say, I won't have any problem publicly apologizing to you or subscribing to YOUR sight.

Yes this is Atheyg, you didn't even have the sac to ban me as you turned my account into a "guest". I recall as you stated in the thread turning my account into "guest" I am nothing but negative and destructive for this site but in reality you couldn't stand my constant references to members to ferrari -talk.com when they asked specific questions well covered on that site. You wanted to keep them on your site and turn them into paying members, you can't stand JRV or anyone that is friends with him such as BigTex aka Speedy308, his site is doing very well BTW and traffic and membership has doubled recently and with soon be implementing a new innovative advertising sponsor plan.

Concerning the negative and destructive part I had done nothing but help people here for over 2 years and while maybe got into it with Allan Lambo a few times I can't think of anything "distructive" I did here, especially on the level of MM and others that started flame threads on a daily basis, in fact I started many popular threads that brought out very interesting stories such as "Barn find stories" and "The Ferraris that got away" in the vintage section along with many others all over, if thats negative in your book then so be it.


I see you will be in my town Vegas for the Rampage, hopefully our paths will not cross, I am involved with the Las Vegas Ferrari club here and do participate in the events and have been invited to a special opening event at the Wynn Casino with my Boxer next week. I am not a fake person and if I don't like someone I don't hide it, but I don't want to cause a scene or wreck a good time for others so if I see you at an event I'll try my best to avoid you.

 

I'm not so sure "Scurrying" fits as a descriptive term.

Not taking any particular side in this but fwiw your account was deleted which is different from a ban. The profile for a "permanently" banned user can still be seen and posts for that user can still be searched. A "permanent" ban can be lifted at any time by a mod or admin. An account that is deleted is gone permenently, there is no profile that can be viewed and although the posts can still be viewed there is no way to search for all the posts made from that account. The "guest" thing seems to be what vB uses for posts that do not have a user account associated, if you look at Gentry's old posts they say guest. I believe that Art's old posts are also listed as "guest" because he quit for a while and asked Rob to delete his account.
