Agreed with all except the Hamilton part. I do think the guy is at the top of his game and at the top of the entire field right now.

I see it different: as Vettels lap/qualy times themselves are competitive I do not see that he has not adapted to the new hybrid/turbo era. Maybe it took him a little bit longer in the first year with Ricciardo but I do not see that this is still the case. If this would be the case it would affect his qualy times as well and not just mistakes he did during the actual racing...
As for the mistakes: again I see it the other way round... I do not think that he lost interest and does not want it enough, in contrary I would say he wants it too much. Basically all his driving errors were made when he was on the backfoot and tried to force it. Look at last year: Germany was the only unforced error he did, everything that followed was the desperate try to make up ground when he was behind on points and there was no reason to play it safe (you can only play safe when you are in front and not when you need to catch up).

Vettel dreams of becoming WDC with Ferrari and he sees it slipping through his hands, be it because Ferrari is loosing the development battle mid season or that there might be someone in the team that might become favoured in near future. He does not have too many chances left to win the title and as said above he tries to hard rather than not hard enough.

What I agree with is that he actually is still as good as Lewis... I said in the past that if Lewis faced the same problems (car development, strategy) with Ferrari I doubt that he would have been as relaxed as he was at Mercedes and therefore I think his outcome at Ferrari would have been the same as Sebs. If Seb on the other hand would have the same safety at Mercedes Lewis has I doubt we would have seen the same amount of mistakes we saw at Ferrari

Only thing Vettel is better than Hamilton or Raikkonen at is leading from the front. The second there's a car or two ahead of him he crumbles, combine that lack of racecraft with the loss of the double-blown diffuser Vettel is the most overrated driver currently on the grid.

He's been pipped in commanding fashion by 2 rookies in their rookie years in 2 completely different teams, both at which he was acknowledged as the #1 driver. womp womp.

I've been saying this forever and time continues to prove this out more and more.

Yes. Severely underrated. I do not see Ricciardo besting him. Would not mind the Hulk in red.

Completely laughable to read those opining that Vettel is Hambone's equal. Vettel's racecraft is far inferior to Hambone's, he melts under pressure like a snowflake and doesn't have an iota of Hambone's mental fortitude.

Vettel only wins when he is in a superior car, gets out in front by Turn 1, then stays ahead of DRS until finish.

Riccardo owned Vettel. Hamilton owns Vettel. LeClerc owns Vettel. Verstappen owns Vettel. I would name more but you get the idea.....

He can neither lead from the front or pass from behind. To compare him with Hamilton is laughable. You could give Vettel the best car on the grid and he would find a way to lose- and he's proven that many times. He will never win another championship and Ferrari would be wise to do some shopping now. Telling LeClerc to hang behind his pansy derriere for two laps was beyond stupid. Thank goodness LeClerc wants to be a champion and knows how to go about it.

Hanging your hat on Vettel is like begging Ferrari to lose.

If this lousy driver is the main opponent of Lewis to beat to the title, what does that say about Lewis´achievement, especially when Lewis had the better car more often than not? Laughable is your tendency to overestimate Lewis and to bash Seb. I remember how you guys complained about missing respect for the achievements of a 5x WDC while you downtalk 4 WDC of his opponent a LOT more. Once again double standards as to be expected from group LH44

Who said Vettel is the main opponent of Lewis? I would think LeClerc and Verstappen are currently his main opponents.

Vettel doesn't even come close- he spins whenever Lewis gets near- or rams him in a fit of pique.

Lewis flat out owns Vettel- sorry you have a problem admitting that.

LMAO Vettel is Hambone's main opponent? Doubt anyone with an ounce of objectivity who actually watches/pays attention to F1 believes this to be true. Laughable.

Vettel is a mental midget. Hambone is a mental ninja.

Hmmm, certainly totally ninja in Australia when he was begging the team to tell Bottas to slow down so he could get fastest lap, and when LeClerc started the race in Bahrain with dodgy tire temps, yet managed to be overtaken and then retake his position without a murmur on the radio, calmly and concisely, while Elton spent the next ten laps moaning about tyres, speed, set up and the rest. Very ninja! Hahaha. All we need to test that is put Rosberg in the second merc and you’ll literally be able to see Elton’s mental strength sap away and leak out the bottom of the car

It was a radio message broadcast on the sky tv channel live during the race, around the last ten laps. If you play it back, it’s there. I didn’t particularly take note of the lap it was on, but my memory seems to say lap 47 or 48 maybe?

It’s on the various race streams you guys can get online in places, I’m no video editor and I certainly haven’t got time to start learning how to do it now. It’s there, the commentators actually discussed it too at the time. The conversation they had revolves around bottles tyres looking perfect, and he and max were able to increase their pace easily enough to prevent Elton getting fastest lap anyway

Let’s face it, tifosi couldn’t care less about what Elton says in a race, and his fans aren’t likely to bring up what he says when he’s having a moan, so I can understand why no one said anything about it before, but it definately happened. I remember because it was the only thing that made me chuckle in the entire race given Ferrari’s dire performance, other than bottles disappearing into the distance.

Then post it. I listened to the entire race on the F1 channel and heard no such thing. I think you just made it up- Hamilton was nowhere near Bottas that day and he knew it.

Not taking sides here, but HAM did say on the radio that he needed to get the fastest lap. At that point of the race VER had the fastest lap until BOT claimed it

Guys, who was vice-champion the last two years? Please don't talk rubbish...

Isn't it interesting? After Lewis was spanked by Bottas in Melbourne there was dead silence in camp LH44 over here, barely a single post by you guys in the entire forum. Now that he was gifted a win after cooking his tires and complaining on the radio all of the sudden 5/6 of his worshipers are back in full force to spit their "reasonable" bashing over this forum...
I can't wait for the day Lewis quit F1 and those guys are gone as well....
