    Yikes...

I would imagine in this case it would fare better with a spare wheel in place than without..ie 512TR's

    Miracle they survived !

does that rear tire look like its one size up in width??

Pavement looks shinny...maybe loss of control due to slippery road...in a TR with these tires it can happen in a snap of time.

it rains 300 days a year in london - the roads are always slippery ! :)

what i cant figure out is what they hit? it says a barrier but to do that kind of damage they would have had to hit something head on at high speed, and there is nothing on that bridge like that. i think they hit something else like a suddenly stopped truck. will be interesting to hear the story when it comes out.

shame about the car. did you notice how the roof sheared itself back of the doors? or do you think that was where they cut the car to remove the passengers?

Looks like that now and the passenger just sustained a leg injury? Testament to the structure of the Testarossa, if you ask me!

Ironically, if it's the Testarossa I think it is (recently sold by a specialist in Kent), it has been crashed before.

Ah I was wondering if it was that one but don't want to post a link to it in its' former glory if it isn't!

If so I didn't realise it was crashed b4 - but found it odd it had US spec high level brake light - if it's that one ofc as I couldn't see the rear properly on the bridge crash photos.

This one did have same colour scheme, RHD flying mirror, roof ariel, shields and goodyear tyres though so odds r pretty high it is that one.

Think it was up at £110k GBP at the time - early in the year I think?

ok, those barriers run parallel to the direction of the road dont they? if so, then again how did he hit it head on with such force? and then how did the wreck end up in the middle of the bridge??? inquiring minds want to know !!

Maybe it went up the curb and into one of those big reinforced pillars like the one just in front of the car on some of the pictures - there`s a 45 degree incline to help it get up there too!

Must have been scary, with enough speed it could have gone fishing!

I live a mile from that bridge (though I am in Switzerland at the moment) and use it all the time. It has a strange camber and a weird surface that appears grippy but is quite slippy. The barriers are heavy concrete. Maybe he fishtailed, hit one barrier with the O/S rear wheel, then spun head on into the other. I wouldn't be speculating if they weren't OK (ish) of course, and that's just pure speculation.

ok, i will go along with that theory. the right rear rim looks damaged as if he hit the curb hard with that one, which could then have spun him around to hit the barrier head on.

old tires, cold slippery surface, inexperienced driver wanting to show off a bit - bad combo.
