Has anyone one here replaced their interior carpeting with a kit from re-originals? Looking for feedback/photos, etc. General understanding from Matteo at reoriginals is that their kits are made from a plush italian wool, stitched sections together to match the interior compartment contours (versus molding of the orig synthetic material with a die).
I'd be surprised if they have carpet kits, they did not 2 years ago despite the web site. Best course is to buy the carpet as a roll and have a competent shop do the install as such, not my car but an example of it turns out when done well. Much better than the wonky form fitted mess that came from the factory.
Yup, confirming I just heard back from Matteo. Like you said, despite the website indicating a 348 carpet kit, their supplier doesn't have a 348 pattern to cut from, and as such only supply carpet in bulk form for us to cut, apply binding (re-originals can provide), and install. Interesting since an email I have from him back in 2019 indicated the carpets were stitched together versus bulk material. In any case, bulk is the option today . I recall seeing some discussion surrounding you doing a re-carpet project of your own. How did it turn out/diy?
Still have the carpet roll, never installed, rebuilding engine currently I am hoping for the fall. The carpet is very nice I will say that but there was confusion sending back and forth, what size was sent, color wrong etc in the end I suspect I paid way more than I should have.
As of June 17 when I called, they have it, as long as you don't order it..... a common problem that I keep encountering with lots of things. Having a similar issue with some Eurospares items for the past two days.
