is there anyone who's working in the retail/wholesale market every day who would comment on the effect of the 6 speed manual on the value and demand for a 430 Spider.

If anything i'd say 6spd manuals have a bit of a premium on 430....<10% of 430s are manual, which makes them desirable by those that want manuals

430 spiders in manual are especially rare, if you can find the buyer that wants that, they will pay for it, however i mainly see manual coupes

i'll have to run the MMRs later this weekend to back up my thoughts, but thats my general observation

The longtime salesman at our local F dealer said he has had more requests for manuals lately.

is it because of the 458 do not come with the manual trans. that what local dealer told me. some people specificly want manual f430 or 360. I think 3 pedals car is great. is just feel more driver. but sometimes during the traffic hour is just horrible.

No, our local sales manager told me even before 430s came out that he was paying more for early 360s with sticks. Used buyers don't need to have the latest obviously and once the warranty is out, paddles become a liability in comparison. Still true with 430s though they are better. Just look how often issues come up here with paddle cars.

I wish that was the case when I was on the hunt for my manual 430 Coupe. Back then (fall 2008), I was seeing more manual Spiders than manual Coupes. Asking around, I was told that there were fewer manual Coupes produced, but I don't know for sure. At the time, though, that did seem to support my findings.

Either way, there are certainly fewer manual 430's than F1's. With the introduction of the F1-only 458, the somewhat rare manual 430's (Coupe or Spider) should hold up well.
